Pretty sure this is my problem, getting that annoying bird chirping noise from the timing cover area.

Anyone have one in good shape they'd part with? I can't believe how expensive the new OEM ones are, and apparently the aftermarket ones are pretty sketchy.

Thanks,
Mike

Depends on which you're referring to as aftermarket.

Something like an ATI SuperDamper is definitely not sketchy and is arguably a lot better than OEM. It's also SFI rated, which is nice - just very pricey (~$400 USD).

Yeah by aftermarket I mean what would be an "OE replacement". Not an upgrade.

I may get the Dorman brand one, I've had decent results with their stuff in the past, and it comes with a limited lifetime warranty. It's Dorman part no. 594106

First thing's first, I need to be 100% this is what's causing the "tweet tweet" under the hood that increases with RPM, haha

I have one with little life left. It flexes very easy and is cracked in the rubber. I could send it to you for shipping cost. BUT it does not chirp. Its still pretty quiet.

Thanks Jay, but I'd like something that I won't be worried about for a little while smile

Alex let me know what you'd want for it, need it ASAP. Had a look at mine last night and its rubbing against the lower timing cover pretty good.

If it's from Alex he has a parts stash in Canada so you might be good there.
I rocked the dorman one cause mine separated and I was happy with it.

Thanks Bryan good to know. I'll see what Alex says, and if a no go then I need to order the Dorman one today, as I'll probably have to wait a week on it to get here to this desolate fu$*ing island!

Yes, but if I wanted to get r@ped I'd go to prison smile

I have a parts hookup at another parts store, the Dorman unit would be around $95 plus tax which is pretty good.

I think there is approximately 10k kilometers on it since brand new OEM. Shipping probably be around 25/30 to your door via USPS

Thanks Alex. What would you want for it?

I will let you know later this evening, just waiting to hear back from one local guy who said he might have one for me. That one you have looks to be in very good shape though.

Thanks Alex, sorry for the slow response. I sourced one locally after, but thanks anyway.
