Have a used South Bend SS PP, TZ/FE (2200lb PP w/ Kevlar/Feramic disk)clutch that I pulled from my car. Clutch has 40K km & disk looks to be right around 50% left. PP friction surface appears to be in great shape. Looking for $180, will get some pics when I get a chance.
Clutch saw 30psi or so on my DSM82, no issue, flywheel surface looked great as well.

No, that is backwards. Check their website, or any site that lists the torque specs. HD is their "stage 2" (320 ft/lbs with their "daily" disk for DSM) and SS is their "stage 3" (400 ft/lbs with the same disk)

They seem to use their own skus, as k536 is not a Southbend part number. The Southbend number is K05048. Also, they say the 2700 is SS-X.....no mention of an HD. I think I would believe Southbend on this over TMZ.

To the best of my knowledge, Tim from TMZ worked with Southbend to develop these clutches for DSM's so he indeed knows them very well. I was thinking the "HD" was a higher rating than the "SS", I was wrong there, it is lower, the "SS-X" is the higher clamping one. http://www.dsmtuners.com/threads/so...-for-updates-on-everyones-setups.478456/

He quite possibly did work with Southbend to develop them, but in the end Southbend determines their own skus and specs. As far as I know, they only make the two pressure plates for DSM. All the other variations are done with different disks. The HD (2200) is their stage one and stage 2 pressure plate. The SS (2700) is their stage three pressure plate, and I believe it is their stage four pressure plate also. Stage four and up I believe is all custom disks.
The SS-X I believe is the same (2700)pressure plate, just with a custom disk. This is what they call stage 4, and it is rated for 525 ft./lbs +. They rate the stage 3 drag clutch (SS 2700 pressure plate with their DXD drag disk) also at 525 ft. lbs, so I am pretty sure it is not a heavier clamping force pressure plate, just a fancy custom disk.
The way they work their skus, the HD or SS denotes the pressure plate, and the "-????" after that denotes the disk. I am pretty sure "-X" just denotes custom disk.

When I was having issues with mine slipping, I had the SS pressure plate, which he told me was a 2200, he suggested just switching out the PP to the SS-X and it would give me an additional 100tq holding power, no mention of swapping disks.

Ya, not sure what he does? He doesn't even mention the HD pressure plate on his site.
Maybe this is how they referred to them right at the beginning? Or else he is calling Southbend's HD an SS, and their SS an SS-X
I know I started selling them not TOO long after they became popular, and I went through all this stuff with Southbend themselves.
According to their current specs, switching from the 2200 to the 2700 adds 60 - 80 ft, lbs. it will hold, depending what disk it is used with.

Not sure what is correct but Tim has always referred to them as SS (2200) & SS-X (2700). Clutch was purchased from Tim (TMZ), not sure if all the options he offers are normally sold direct from Southbend? (at least they didn't use to have some of his version listed on their own site).
Back on topic.....
Edit: Now that I think about it, think the original SS PP was rated less, then came out with a "new & improved" PP with more clamping force, but he still called it SS, as it just replaced the older version.
Second edit: Said 50% life left but after another look its probably more then 50%, will check it out further when I get a chance.
