Dan that looks awesome!! If you don't mind, what program did you use to do that? I was an avid free hand drawer back in HS (cars only), and would like to use a cool editing program that is feasable.

That looks awesome. Too bad Mitsubishi isn't taking the hint. Seriously, Dan, SEND that pic over to them. Maybe, just maybe they'll come to their senses and make some styling changes for the better. (I hope).
[RANT WARNING IN EFFECT]
As far as the powertrain is concerned. If they want 400HP, and AWD, then they should just take the setup they have on the EVO MR and bring it over to this 4G Eclispe and stop wasting their time on unproven, unlikely, and overly complex technology. They of all poeple should know that the targeted market wants agressively styled, sporty 2 door cars that are modification friendly and respond well to them.
With all this new tech, I'm seeing a ton of recalls for this Eclipse in the future. And a Dismal, likely bankruptcy for Mitsubishi. With all their problems, you'd think that they would finally smarten up, go with proven tech, and give the public what they want. But ..well..I guess digging a deep grave for themselves is what they want to do.
(What can I say, I have no love for the 3G and now this 4G Eclipse, and I'm sick to death of these OEM souped up grocery getting' 4-doors. And these heavy a** N/A cars just don't do it for me.)

I thought their going to bring the turbo-charged engine back to the eclipse instead they went with the v6. I guess I have to wait for the evo 9 to get here, hopefully it can comply with canadian standards. Long live 4g63!!!

Well, here it is...... http://autoshow.msn.com/as/article.aspx?xml=Mitsubishi&shw=autoshow2005&src=autoshow2005 I'll have more pics after this weekend.... I kinda like it.......colour can do a lot to change the look of a vehicle, so try to ignore the not so flattering orange, and picture this car in shiny Ebony black or a bright Milano Red. Now I just have to get one, and slap the wing, and the hump on it, and so something about the headlights, as they are too tame. I am sure Greddy and/or HKS will have this car well taken care of in a short amount of time, so intake, exhaust, suspension and turbo mods won't be too far behind.

The specs are pretty impressive (or at least, on par with other automotive offerings) -260hp/260lb/ft torque MIVEC V6, -heated seats (nice) -650watt RF sound system with MP3 - 6 year/60000km warranty, 10yr/100000Km powertrain warranty Don't know about traction control or anything like that as of yet. Generally, the rule of thumb is to avoid the first year iteration of a new/major redesign, and wait for the bugs to be worked out. Perhaps by 2007, Mitsubishi (if they still exist) will have listened to the public enough to say: "HEY! even that hideous Ford 500 has full time All Wheel Drive!, and so does a tiny Suzuki Aerio, I think there is a trend here! Let's get our heads out of collective asses and put that well loved feature back in..." One can only hope....

Looks pretty good, theres definetly some 2g styling in there. But... is it still fwd? 260hp in a fwd coupe is pretty stupid, hope they went rwd but i doubt it.

Went to the Detroit Auto Show this weekend, and saw the new Eclipse There was not a lot of activity around the Mitsubishi area, but the Lancer Evo VIII MR did generate it's fair share of monkeys who just wanted to sit in it, pretend to know what the crap they were talking about, and grind the transmission to shreds while talking the usual brainless, ignorant yackity yack. I did eventually get my picture taken while sitting in it, and my friend had to drag me away kicking and screaming as I clutched the wheel in defiant lust. The new Eclipse is actually kind of nice, in fact I would seriously consider it. (but I would never sell my Talon, because I don't want to miss it like I miss my beloved MR2) Of course, given the choice, I would without a doubt take this gorgeous vehicle home if I could:

Originally posted by Dan Sarkar: Jeff, are you serious, or are you being sarcastic? I was being sarcastic, although I did get to see a Gallardo in person last week. There was a yellow one driving around the Vegas strip, and parked at the Venetian for a short time. A Gallardo based DSM would look pretty nice. I have to say, the new Eclipse does look pretty good, except for the horns on the front bumper and the bizarre mirror placement. But it's still a FWD, non-turbo, with Mitsubishi build quality. And it'll probably cost the same or more than the current Eclipse GTS which is about $24k US + options. No thanks! Maybe I'm getting old, but the <A HREF="http://www.caranddriver.com/article.asp?section_id=19&article_id=9022">Mazdaspeed 6</A> looks much more interesting to me.
