We had a deal 4 days ago for me to buy his AFC off of him for $375.. Told me to meet him at Magnus Today (Sat 2)! emails me last night(Fri 1) saying that someone offered him $425 last minute, so now hes selling it to him!

This guy is an ass he obliously is not trustworthy and cant hold up to a deal he made!
For $50 guy.. what is your problem? You that poor.. ok i understand that was just not right of me to say! But, You didnt even ask me if i wanted to buy it for the same price or anything.. your just now selling it to someone else.

Im so pissed.. if i would have drove out there.. all i have to say is FU,
and dont do buisness with this guy

I had a deal set to buy a starion FMIC from
a so called trustworthy DSMer from the Quebec board Carl Leduc and I got a money order ($5 cost.. It's not the point it's the principal) ready and had to cancel it since he emails me saying one of his friends wants it now... what a Guy... I will never buy off of someone unless it was a sameday deal...

It starts to be a problem when you have supporting mods that need that ( Like an AFC)
Or in my case I had the piping ready and had to sell it..... oh well, looks like some of the DSM community still can't be trusted...

I understand selling to a higher bidder... but you should have had the option to bid higher. I think that assholes that defraud other members of the board should be flamed in a thread like this. It lets the other honest members of the board be made aware of who not to do business with.

WEll its like i am selling 2 things right now.. They both are Highest bid.. One is already sold.. to Jesse for $100 the cheque hasnt arrived yet but if someone offered me $200 for it right now.. i couldnt do it.. id haveto call jesse and see if the cheque is comming???? HINT HINT???? And the other item the HKS PFC F-CON is higest bid by tommorrow (sun 3).. thats totally fair... not like what happened to me.. its pretty much like he ripped me off!

Well, if it was *once*, I could see it. After all, this is a free-market economy and we can do what we want. At least he let you know beforehand, rather than waiting for you to show up.

But *twice*, this gets to be a trend. I'd be more worried about sending the money to him and then having him back out...

Don't come on here slagging him, Why don't you go out there and pay full pop like he did for his super AFC? Your upset cause you missed out on a deal, that happens to many people. If some one comes and buys it first, well then you just weren't fast enough. the guy with the money wins.

Rob, I strongly suggest you step back into line and think about what you posted. Peter is on of the most respectful stand up guys I have ever met.

A local speed shop waay underquoted me for my ES bushings, and *refused* when I offered to pay at least cost +10% on them. Heck, he could have sold them to another guy at cost and gotten a better deal, but that's what he told me, that's what he stuck with...

I would expect that a verbal agreement would be upheld under contract law. A deal is a deal.

Of course, we're just hearing one side of the story. Not that I don't believe Rob but one person may interpret something one way and someone else another way. ...Ok, I'll butt out now .

Okay Marco .. one more thing.. he was away all week ask him.. he didn't get home till Friday Night.. i wanted to get it sooner but he was out of town! I even tryed to get him to meet me on Fri night when he got home and couldnt do it.. thats why we set the metting for the next day!.. I had no chance to say or do anything.. he promised me and turned back!

Marco thats like me telling you to order me a $2000 turbo and the day b4 i pick it up say i found the same turbo for $1800 somewhere else sorry!.. same sh!t! Its the moral!If i make a deal i stick to it.. even if i was paying $1000 for the S-AFC once i commit to something i dont turn back!

Heh. Wrong example to pick. Marco (and most others) probably have that done to them *all* the time. ):

A better one would be that Marco ordered the turbo for you from his supplier, and was told to pick it up in 2 days, and was told the next day that since another dealer offered $100 more for it, he sold it to that guy...

I put my 14b turbo up for sale hereon this board for $200 CDN. I also put it up on the trader in the States for $200 US. I said the first person to contact me about it gets it. A guy in Toronto I've never met or heard of emails me and says he wants to deal for the $200 CDN. I says done. A couple weeks later he had his 14b and I had my $200. BUT I must have recieved 8~10 offers of $200 US + after telling this guy deal for $200 CDN and before I shipped it. That's 50% more... $100! But I had the integrity to stick to what I agreed to. That's just the right thing to do.

Peter may be a great guy... I've never met him. All I'm saying is I don't agree with what he did in this case.

My word is my bond, although there are missunderstandings inevidably I believe you should stick do a deal, as long as both parties can agree that at some point there was a deal.

Yes Reza, since I popped timing belt #3 last week, I couldn't exactly make it in to work, and once I got my rental (weep), I have to admit that I completely forgot to do anything about it. Andrews March : I'm a really good friend of Carl and I can tell you that he really don't deserve that kind of insult (calling him a dick) and you should applologize for that. Marco, if you have so many parts no one will ever use you should advertise them (like your last garage sale post) now that it's race season I'm sure everyone will be thinking "Hey that parts is cheap and it'll only take me 10 days of work to fit it on my car so it's worth it!!"

I can understand your fustration on the deal. But I think that you were a little harsh in calling Pete a loser and not to trust him. Pete has done many favours for me and I trust him BIG TIME. Perhaps you could have been a little more diplomatic in describing everything and let us readers come to our own conclusion.

I think it a little different when you run a shop, as opposed to selling a couple items here and there. Marco If you have a problem with people asking you to order stuff and then not showing up, just get them to give you their Visa number or put a deposit on it. That way you can guarandamtee you'll never have another part without an owner again

I will NOT pick sides.

However, what I will say is that some people in this world are greedy, and have no honour.

I've sold a bunch of things, here and there, and in a few cases had higher offers AFTER the deal was made. (most recently my o2 housing)
I still stick to the deal.

If you can't stand by your word, what good are you.

I've been burned a few times now.. but I still stick to the honourable road.

I don't know about you guys, but personally, my reputation is worth more than $50.
