So hopefully if I'm way off someone will set me straight here.
I have a friend picking me up a 2003 BMW 325 or 330 at the GTA auctions tomorrow.
They're all low km's (under 60k) and off lease bmw-canada vehicles. Does anyone know of any incredible deals on used bimmers that might beat these guys?
At GrandTouringcars in London for example, they're selling an 03 330 for 38k...and an 03 325 for 32k...this auction can get them with around 60% of the kms on their cars for about 10k less...
So...someone, please dispute this and tell me it's not as sweet of a deal...
Otherwise, next meet, I'll be driving an 03 bimmer (non-323 Wink) with my talon in the garage, turning into a track car only.

Every thursday , there is auction for bimmers. If you have a dealer friend , they can get the cars real cheap. That's the best price for bimmer in the town. By the way ,remember, you need some one who is famelier with the bmw engine sound . If you need any help with auctions and other stuff , let me kow, I might be able to help you out.

TAA is terrible. It is same as Montréal auction. All of the cars have accident. But the one I said, it's only for BMW and BENZ and all of them are off the lease. I don't know which one Jon is talking about but the one I am talking about is on Thursday and the rest are rollback accident and other shitty problems. Any way, good luck.

This is the Adesa auction, a dealer friend is buying for me. All are off-lease from BMW canada, with full warranty on them.

Hey HEY Jon! Just yesterday I was thinking: "I haven't seen Jon on here for a while........I wonder how he's doing" Nice choice of car, I hope it works out for you! 3 series is the car of choice down here, they are literally like Civics in that they are everywhere So, if you joined the Dallas Police (or better yet, Plano) you'd fit right in Good luck! now that gas is rumoured to be going down in price, you'll be able to afford keeping the thirsty, but sexy inline 6 well fed.
I want an RS4.

Wow...good info, but those guys are insane with their pricing...2002 330CI going for 45,000$ used??? They're 20 grand cheaper than that at the auctions...with warranty.

Lexus is a nice car, but they don't have the manual tranny option that BMW does. And European cars DO feel different. More...solid...somehow. I can see it in my Passat, and definitely in the Audi A4 I drove. So much that I'd consider an A4 against a BMW 3-series, actually.
Definitely more reliable, and a better value, but if you're just going for driving 'feel' there's no other option, really. There's a reason most BMW drivers never drive anything else, but they pay for the privilege...

I also have a 1998 Lexus GS400 and it has been a solid car. I have been running it pretty hard as well. It has 123K on it now and it runs like when I first got it in 2000. Plus you can get a 1998 for $20-25K for a GS400 and a GS430 you can get from 25-30K. They all make 300HP while the GS430 makes 325 ft-ibs of torque compared to the GS400's 310 ft-ibs. The tip tronic tranny isn't bad either on the GS400. I would probably upgrade the suspension to L-tune at least and you will give any bimmer a run in the corners.

Arnett already got the 3 series, but as for the Lexus not having the manual option I think you're forgetting about the IS 300---which happens to be direct competition, you can get in manual (my roommate has an '03).

Yeah, bought and paid for the car last night, and I pick it up tomorrow morning.
2003 BMW 325i, silver, fully loaded...should be fun.
I haven't ever owner a "luxury" car before, so I'm pretty pumped...
A little sad about the talon right now, because I now that I'll rarely drive it (once I fix it again), but I just don't want to get rid of it yet.

It's horrible, Jon. Things like supple, but firm heated leather seats, heated side mirrors, air conditioned glovebox, etc., etc... They just show us how old we're becoming. I liked the IS300, and almost bought one. But there's a major chord of discontent among IS300 owners. Not enough power. And it's EXPENSIVE for a used IS or GS300, even. Almost used-motorcycle expensive (relative to their original value). But they would almost last forever. Welcome to BMW snobbery, Jon. The 325 is the best bang for the buck for sure. Too bad the women will all think you're a snobbish prat, or will just want you for the money the car signifies. *Laugh*
