I thought these cars were supposed to be fast. I got video of this one. will post it when its up. anyways..this nice blue rsx was kinda taunting me as we were going down highway 2. we come to a set of lights. we give eachother the "let's go". i rev up. so does he. light goes green, and i'm gone. second gear i was a block away and shut it down. to my surprise. no ricer fly by. i think i glazed my clutch tho. any remedy for that?

What do you mean glazed your clutch..What clutch do you have again the stock one.They are not very good if its stocker.Still never really heard of glazing a clutch.Brakes stuff maybe.
Usually when you launch too high your clutch will slip when it fubar.

After it cools off it usually does ok at lower boost or off boost but then again you launch high at high boost and it slips.Thats pretty much what mine does and imagine loosing mph bad in the quarter too.
Talking my stock clutch.SBR 3500 is not in there yet.

Not sure what those rsx have 170 HP in a pretty light car mabye .Think a mildy modded talon especially awd would of course rip them a new one.Especially of course of the line.Honda has some new 300 hp sedan awd out soon or maybe now.

Used to enjoy crushing the type r intergras with my 99 trans am ram air.One came up behind me on the highway at 80mph and he was a small spot in the mirror by 140 or so and the other one tried the 99 trans am off the lights and it was just as funny.

Haven't lost to a honda in any of my cars yet.
Of course sooner or later it might happen.Almost played last year with one guy with swapped engine and spray hear his is decently quick.Think might have beat buddies near stock c5 vert.

2005 rsx..160 hp and around 2700 manual for weightTalon awd think around 3100 weight.so like 200 hp equivalent to our 200 hp stock or was it 190 or 210.forget but bone stock should be a close race.

The type S rsx is 210 hp and slightly heavier at 2850.That would be like 240 hp equivalent to our cars.But NA torque and power curve can't touch a turbo so we should still be faster even if equal power equivalent.Also awd destroys any fwd or rwd car on street tires.

Did you notice whether it was a Type S or not, if it wasn't a Type S it's slow. A guy I know has a Type S and its decently fast for sure.

I've driven a 160hp base RSX. Slow as piss. The Type-S, however, feels about the same until you really wind it up.

I've never lined up with a car with anything less than a V8 or a heavily foced fed motor that could run with my car. Usually its a launch to top og 2nd gear and thats it.

Even then, you'd have won the psychological race, when you pull 2 car lenghts ahead just at the launch.

I've raced a Type-S on a street light (cuz that guy really pissed me off, anyway, long story), woops, a few car's length right from the start (my AWD!)

if the RSX in the clip is light blue color, it should be a type-S.

rsx-s, runs about the same as astock talon tsi awd if i remember correctly, the awd will obviously pull ahead from the get go, that intern cause anyone to juss get pissed and spin there tires some more lol, had it happen to me, as im sure many awders here have as well.

I raced an rsx type s with an exhaust and most likely just an intake with my FWD laser with a 14b and had him by about 5 cars once I got into 3rd gear. The FWD is about the same weight too.

DUDE, you either layed the smack down on that guy, or he wasnt givin it 100% cause you put like 10 lengths on him in 8 seconds...

he may have given up after i launched the hell out of it. i shut down at the bus. you can hear the whistle. he was taunting me, so it's his race to prove. you can see the face the passenger was giving me.

Heh, very amusing video your buddy gets all excited because you are racing a dude that doesnt seem to be going at all. Even if he spun through 1st by 2nd he would have hooked and gained fast with the 200hp, look how fast you put car lengths on him. Unless you are making some big power seems very unlikely that dude is going WOT.

my car is putting out huge HP. arent my mods listed? i swear i lised them. he's gigling because of the g's throwing him around. look at how far i am from the lights and how fast. look at the launch. 200hp is certainly not enough to catch it.

Mike, quit bench racing. Your cars got a small 16g, untuned and no dyno results. This is of course from reading your previous posts where you seem to be asking others to guesstimate your hp. :rolleyes:

it has a big16, and it must be puting out high HP if i beat my buddy's stang.

i have to appologise..I did hit third gear there. but if you pause the film, and look close you can see where the needle is after 4 seconds when i shut down. and i believe i short shifted every gear cuz my tach light is out.

Stock for stock, a RSX Type-S will beat a Talon in a long race. I have seen one beat a 03 Mustang GT as well.

I raced a type S once which had intake and exhaust and slaughtered him by like 4 cars all the way to about 150 then shut it down, my cars pretty much stock. The power curve are pretty peaky on those cars and they have no torque.

this is off topic, but it's my thread dammit.

my G/F works at an oil change place in whitby, and while i was there yesterday trying to fix the talon, two punks pulled in driving a tibouron. this thing had a huge tach on the dash. My girl asked him why he had it on there. He said its easier to look at that one when he's racing than the stock one. She pops the hood....STOCK engine, with a better intake.
funniest thing was, they left the car and everyone started badmouthing the car in the shop. they didnt know his girl was in the car. damn tints!
