I spot what looks like an Olds Cutlass supreem (RWD) or Regal. primer grey. any ways the thing is low in the front with some mags (dirty) and somthing at least 8 inches wide on the rear. Dual exhast. and whats this?? 2 guages on teh pillar?.. theres a Grand national motor in there FOR SURE!!! I drive up beside him, my buddy gives him a thumbs up. We do a couple of pulls and cruise together for a bit.. then he starts to pull away.. so i speed up.. and speed up some more. before i know it im 190 at 15 psi and were rigth beside each other! Niether of us can pull away. well the 401 is comming up and we jsut slow down.

btw. the inner diamter of my 30 dollar reactive muffler is 1.5 inches..... jsut a thought

oh and to clear your minds the highway was deserted of ANY other cars. Im not stupid, crazy, but not stupid.

I race buddies on deserted highways and off the beaten track roads. I have the occasional stoplight race to maybe 60 or so km/hr and the odd little bit faster one in the industrial parts of town when they are deserted.

Last race was in my 96 z28 vert a week ago.
My 1g has been down for a few weeks being demodded and my new 2g wasn't here and the 2g is too slow to race much of anything bone stock.

I ran a newer diesel turbo ford truck .First I passed him at 120km/hr spee limit is 110km /hr and then he punched it and tried to fly by me so I nailed it and he hung for a second and then the vert put good lengths on him up to 200km/hr when we shut down. This was double lane highway so very safe.As safe as racing can be and straight as arrow road no curves.
He hung back after the good beating the z laid on him. No idea what mods he had mabye he was stock. The vert had some small bolt ons and 3.42 gears instead of stock 2.73 gears.
No hardcore stuff. This year though have bought over winter a 2800 stall,comp cam and new roller rockers and have a nice pretty purple zex wet kit also to install.

Also going to be modding up the 2g shortly. I thought could live with the t 25 for a year or so ,I can't. I had a 50 trim in my 1g so its hard to step down that much.I sometimes feel like the 2g has no turbo.

I think have to go bigger than 50 on the new car.

I spent to much money modifing my car to go fast to break it racing. How's that for a Paradox.

You were only running like 15psi on the 50 trim though right? Their sweet spot is much higher!

I think alot of people don't race because 94octane is expensive. The last couple days have to good at 75.9-78.9/litre but still, gas is expesnive and if you drive the car hard, you're not gonna get any mileage.

just beat a 95ish prelude with exhaust rolling 40 and a stock turbo 240 yeasterday off the line

I just came back from a weekend at Autodrome St-Eustache (QC) at the TRAC racing school.
I paid 102.8 for 94 octane (PetroCan has it over there) and I managed a whopping 26L/100km on the track. Started off with a full tank Sunday morning, by the end of the lapping sessions, I was at 1/8th tank...

Soo, people still race and, yes, gas costs more now but it's still damn cheap when you compare everywhere else (cost/living). People pay more for 1L of bottled water when all you have to do is turn on the tap...

Are you guys kidding!?! Too modded to race? Never heard that one before. Well, as long as it looks nice I guess... :rolleyes: ...to each their own as they say.

$5-6 bucks more for 94 per fill up is not bad, dsm's are not the cheapest cars to maintain anyways. (cheap awd turbos to purchase for sure)
A few buddies and I were hanging out, they had corrados, and one of them lined up against a white WRX with a body kit....to keep it short, they got into the 404 from finch to 16th, and it was neat to watch those little front wheel supercharged g60's pulling way passed that WRX. Sure, not a dsm race, but ppl still race.

Racing is bad.... lol, Ive seen two talons this week, one guy gave me a ricer fly by the almost wrote of his friends laser, jesh who stops for red lights..... Left black marks. Not to mention ive been passenger in a couple that hit trees and poles..

Ya, too many stupid kids out there who dont know how to handle a vehicle at high speeds.. Furthermore, give a dumb ass kid any real horsepower and they will demolish the car in a month.

It's great if they only demolish themselves and the car. But if they take anyone with them, well thats not cool.

On that note I am currently living in Peterborough. I had a race (when my car was on the road) with a young guy about my age in a 93 SVT Cobra Mustang (or so the badges on the car depicted). We raced from the lights and he ripped me out of the hole, ok, no problem, I easily caught up to him and this pissed him off. So he thought it was cool to get around traffic by going into oncoming traffic lanes, uphill. I just backed away and said to myself this is to stupid now someone is going to get hurt. I gave him **** for it at the next lights and he told me to get a faster car and sped off.

He was the cocky hockey player looking type that had to show his friend in the passenger side how crazy he was I guess. Not worth it for me IMO, I already get into enough trouble with speeding tickets.
