Hey how are you guys? I was pretty disappointed tonight when I encountered a 300 or 300C not very sure, their seemed like two italian guys in there in there late 20's or early 30's. Anyway, this guy was speeding all over rutherford towards airport rd. So I just followed him and was speeding as well. Anyway, we come to a light, the light turns green I tried lauching it and messed up and bogged it. When I shifted in 2nd gear the car kind of jerked a bit, like it hit fuel cut (I only had 1/8 tank of fuel, it was very low). He suddenly started to gain a bit after that screw up. When I shifted in 3rd he gained on me a little (I don't like shifting fast, it ruins trannies). Than I went into 4th and we were dead even all the way to 7000RPM, however, after that it was getting dangerious and the ground was wet. He gave me the hazards lol damn bastard eventhough it was a tie. I noticed it has really good topend power, I am guessing it was the 300C (It was dark, couldnt tell, too busy looking at the road). These are my mods/setup:

p.s: I notice my engine light after a long drive comes on than goes away after a few seconds. I did disabled the "Detect misfires" and "EGR because it was throwing a light".

You raced until 7000 rpms in 4th gear on wet roads?

Thtas like 200 right?
I'd think a 300c would pull on your car through the top end, your only hope would be a solid launch and since you messed that up, I would not be disappointed running close to a 300c to that speed. If it was a v6 version.... Check for massive boost leaks, hehe =)

Well I think it wasn't the 300 with the 2.7L or 3.5L because they do 16.02@89mph, I am positive I do much better than that. When my car was stock I pulled a 14.9@92mph (T-25). Hemi does 14.54@100mph, thats what I Think I was racing.

My car does have a decent pull, it was much faster than when it was stock thats for sure lol. I still think my 1g BOV is leaking a little, and the 2.5 inch intercooler piping doesn't help with spool up either haha.

I notice another thing. I have a lot of lag inbetween shifts, its horrible, it is like a 60 trim or something. However, if I start in the gear and punch it than it is instant. Could it be that my MBC is ****ed up or my wastegate likes to stay openned too long inbetween shifts?

How many K's you have on that 14b? Could just be very tired, that would explain the lag. I'd do a boost leak test, more then likely that 1G bov is leaking and as far as 2.5" pipeing and spool if you actually work out the math of 2.25" vs 2.5" the difference in spool is basically nothing. 4000 rpms in 4th, wet roads on Rutherford, holly sh*t.

Well the speed was actually reached on bovaird where it has 3 lanes both ways. It was empty and 2 am at night. I don't like street racing,I usually go to the track, but I think a hemi was worth it.

When I am in gear, the spool isn't so bad. Lets say I am rolling in 2nd gear at 3000 rpm than punch it, the boost comes pretty fast, however, when I floor it in 2nd redline it then go into 3rd, the spool time was like my 60 trim I had a year ago. It is just horrible. I am not 100% sure how much mileage the 14B has, it came with my JDM motor. All I did was change the water pump and timing belts. The motor runs great.

If you're venting then it could cause the lag, also maybe you shift faster your rev wouldn't drop so much reducing spool between shifts....
Don't race if you're gonna race like a pussy.

Dominik, don't race if you are going to race like a pussy? How about, don't post before you get that stick out of your ass smile

In addition to that, did you read about the part where I clearly stated I have a 1g BOV. I am not venting.

Then dont shift like a pussy. You're loosing spool shifting like my mother. Scratch that, my mom can bang gears pretty damn well.
So stop granny shifting.
Why build up a car if you're not gonna drive it the way it's intended to.

Hey run some higher octane. I've heard guys losing power when they run 91. 93 or 94 octane is the way to go.

Don't worry you will get him next time. pimp
