Driving to work today, about 30 minutes late already... I come across a nice new shiny SE-R Altima. He has both windows open, so I of course give him a little BOV salute and pass him. We get to the next light, and I look over at the guy, he nods and starts revving her up.. (Boy! These cars sound SICK) I step up to the challenge and hit the 2-step and peel away from the line half a length ahead. 2nd gear the little vixen she is lets out a timmy little grind but still hooks enough to squawk and the Nismo just couldn't keep up. I shut it down around 80; which is the speed limit on this road and he flies by. We exchange thumbs up and go our own way.

Just on a side note, I love what Nissan has done with the nicer SE-R version of the Altima, my dad has a 3.5 plain version, its nowhere near as nice as this thing...

I am not sure that I have seen or heard of the new SE-R version. What have they done to them thats different. The Altima's are a nice car as it is. Sounds like a fun pull. Way to have fun and stay at the speed limit.

Little bit of a rundown on the car.. basically its a 3.5 Altima, with a nice body kit, a sportier suspension, a 6MT 18" rims and a much nicer/sweeter sounding exhaust system. The sound is more like the Z than the regular Altima.

I've seen a few of those around town. They are nice cars. With a 6 spd manual that car would be a pretty good pull. Good job.

What do you mean I should try the 3.5?

We own a regular version 2005 3.5 Altima...

They also come with a limited slip diff. I really like those cars.

I didn't know they even made a 3.5 altima.

Thought that was only in the Maximas. Huh. Ya learn somethin' new every day. The SE-R spec v's or whatever they are...they really rip and handle quite well too.

Another good one is the mazdaspeed protege. I think they only made them in 2003, though but apparently they have near perfect weight distribution and a nice 2L turbo motor.

Only about 170hp but it feels like a lot more when you're in one.

I think there is some general confusion about the actual other car involved, it wasn't a sentra or a 2.5 SE, I'm better then that... (=

Ahhh..

Shame on me.

I blame the confusion on beer.
