[rant]All I see now are a bunch of people that beg, plead, whine & complain about everything. They can't think for themselfs & are too lazy to think what the problem(s) could be. They can't read, use the search function correctly. And when it comes to fixing their cars, they ask other people to do it for free or cheap !

And I wonder why I havent seen any GOBC post anymore or seen any good post lately come from longtime members. This DSM Club is turning into a bunch self-serving whiners, that expects everyone to help them. They suck this club dry, take what they need and take off.

To all the new members out there.
1. Use your brain & don't be lazy !
2. Use the search function
3. You've got a problem with your car, thats to bad, tell us, after you've search through the site. & don't expect anyone to fix it for you.
4. If you want me (and or most of us) take anything you say seriously, then use proper spelling !! no short form BS. Like a lot of lazy ppl use.

[/rant]

if you're caught doing 140kmh in a 100 zone = a few points
150kmh in a 100 zone, you'll be arrested.
350kmh in a 100 zone, you'll be shot. On the side of the road. Like a rabid dog...

a few years ago, dsm's were more premium cars like today's WRX, heck back in 1990 a tsi was worth $30 grand, now one can be had as cheap as $1500, and a lot of old timers have outgrown their cars in favour of other european/japanese luxo sedans, so its not the club dsm that has changed, its the dsm clientele  that has changed hands.

i personally never even drive mine anymore, although its insured, all clean, and its in perfect driving shape. smile it has been a very upstanding and reliable car for me. its just sitting on the side, and i keep it for sentimental purposes more than anything else...or when i feel like driving a 5spd.

There are a bunch of whiners here, you should have seen the old Honda forums I was on.

My pet peeve is the search function as well. Granted not all the information needed is present after a search but if you wanted an answer and it's a common issue that's the way to get results, and FAST. Don't bitch because noone replies because in the amount of time it takes to type it they would be done searching.

Another one is when people ask for help, as Andrew mentioned. If you have to ask me for my phone number or ask me where I live then you clearly don't know me well enough to ask me to help on your car.

What's worse? Seeing a shitty star rating or seing one that's been dissabled?

The search option is good and should be used more often. But if people stop posting then what happens ? If everyone used the search option and never post anything at all then that will be the end of the club. Having helpful people on here and respectable people on here is what makes this the best board by far.By posting this all your doing is scaring new members from posting and asking questions. You got to think twice whats good for the clubs. Of course its sucked dry Talon havent been made since 98. Thats why WRX sites are getting popular and unfortuanantly this site is becoming less popular until they bring the Evo here.

First off HAPPY NEW YEAR !!!! smile pimp

Secondly .. both arguments are valid .. people should not only try the search, but also try other sites (Like the ones listed under the 'Technical Info' (just a few links below the Bulletin Board link)) MAch V for example has a good VFAQ.

But if someone asks a question (epecially someone new)it would be great if did NOT get the typical "Use the *&!@^&* search button" to scare them off ... a little consideration, kindness and courtesy would be greatly appreciated by everybody

Hey Andrew ponder GOBC post
I think a big part of the problem for a lot of us, your self included, is our knowledge. Some topics piss me off only because I've seen it 10 or more times and the answer seem so obvious. There is always the occasional new informative topic or discusion to keep interest sparked, but on the whole I think alot of us feel the same as yourself. The whiney cheap bastards are a whole other thing. There are those people who whine and those who fracking suck(.) Take Bob for example I used to hate him, now life just wouldn't be the same with OUT him! laugh Now there are those who sell things at high prices here and are trying to make to much for what they are selling. (they deserve to be bartered with) Then there are those little pissants you give a fair price for what they want and they say "No!, I'll give you half" frack them! I was selling 4 calipers for $40, guy said "$30 you diliver" frack off! I'll throw them in the trash!.

Everyone in this thread has goals for there cars and knows how to get there or is already there, the learning curve is steep, then you just wait or go to NABR ( and no I'm not a member frown )

Hey guys. i think that i am still posted as a newbie, but i understand what you are saying and i think that for the most part its true. I honestly have never used the search, i didnt even know it was there. I found this site about 6 months ago and it has really helped me out a lot. I was not mechanically inclined, hell i dont know if i am yet or not, but even still, this site and the people on it have helped me learn how to change an alternator, belts, and today my clutch. I ask for help when i need something, i post replys when i have something intelligent to add to a topic, such as this in my opinion. The buy and sell area, the help section and the just chatting like this area...they are all great places to post. The idiots that come on and reg for like 2 days just to get someone to tell them how to fix somthing, and then never come back, its a waste of time. then there are the other people, us, that want to be a part of something. Im done now, happy new year, and hope to see you guys @ the meet @ yorkdale. J

Ha! Troy must have answered about 100 of my newbie questions. I now barely come here anymore, but this board gave me a lot. I miss some of the GOBC's banter but don't miss the 1000 new members that I don't know. I think the club has just gotten too big and impersonal. It's not really anyone's fault it was inevitable. Scharok is right too. I Can't wait for the EVO.ca club!

I'm on the BC board now. It's small, local, and we kind of know who we are talking to.

I'm here everyday. I check the board "for sale" and "wanted items". I check the "help me" section to see if I can help anyone. Simple. I search when I need Info. Ask questions when need be. Participate.

How much does it cost to get your car repaired? Do a search, maybe you can do it yourself.

For the love of God, with all the free information you have recieved and the $$ you have saved, dig deep and be a part of the "Hall of Honour" Or do you know what that is. Check it out, it's on the menu on the left side of your screen.

That's right, I'm not in there. I'm in my second last semester of College and am broke as hell. This Club as saved me more than enough times. When I finish class and start working like a normal human, I will make my mark.

It's not a plug, but $$ is made to circulate, not accumalate. Nothing is free.

"support the club that we all believe in"

Sorry, just my opinion.

Feels good to be driving again.
