i have been workin in montreal the past 2 weeks and havnet had time to jump online

i just received the rest of the deposits 1.5 week ago so there gettin into the production now

initially it was to be months end but we might be 2 weeks behind with the late payments and the slight delay

all is good though no worries

I have been trading emails with Keith in the past two months. He emailed me a week and a half ago or so, and told me they are still being fabricated. It's now first week of April, and these hoods were supposed to be done end of February. I can see a two or three week delay, but this is getting rediculous.

buddy if there is an issue take your money back and get a shitty hood somewhere else for alot more money.

i cant help there production schedule im hearin the same excuse your gettin from me.

Im not goin to candy coat it or make up excuses im stuck in the middle and i want this sh!t done too.

If your not happy your money will be on its way back this afternoon just let me know.

UMM, you're running this group buy, I think considering the amount of time it's been, whether or not it's your fault or not, you oraganised this, so instead of taking a "well if you can't wait buy somewhere else" attitude, you could be a little more apologetic towards the delay. Nobody's bashing you for them not being ready, we just want to know what is going on. This is the first time you have posted since February, and it's now April. I know we have been trading emails, and I posted that, but when something is posted on here, it just lets everyone know what the situation is. I know your hood is included in this, so you are in the same boat, but I think it's expected to have people wondering and saying this is getting to be a long time, directing it towards you, because you are the middle man, the one who we sent the money to. I'm sure people would be complaining directly to the other people if they had an account on here also, or if we sent the money to them too. I'm just posting the concerns on behalf of more than one of us, so don't get all pissed off. I was at the Ottawa meet a few weeks ago, and someone else in the group buy was really pissed off, so that's when I asked what was going on again. We are very appreciative that you hooked up us with the group buy, but like you will not sugar coat the delay, we can't be expected to sugar coat our concerns either. Anyway, it's too bad the posts were taken the wrong way, or that you are pissed off at us because it was not meant to make anyone angry.

im not mad, im just as pissed as the next guy, my hood is in there too, but unfort i cant please and make anything happen myself.

Billy, Keith is a very respected long time member of this board as well as a Moderator so please treat him in that manner. I took your post as hostile towards him as well. If that wasn't your intent fine.

Keith has given an update. He's also offered you your money back if you are unhappy with the delay. If you are not happy take your money back. We all know that sh!t happens. We all understand your frustration at the wait but you can rest assured Keith is doing what he can.

Please no more bickering. If you have had enough you've been given a way out.

The fact that Keith is a long time member and moderator, has no impact on the facts that I was commenting on. I stated that we had been talking, but the time frame was getting rediculous. That is a fact, everyone in the group buy would agree. It was not directed towards Keith, as stated in the other post. I know the situation, and he is the middle man. There is nothing he can do about it, but give us his updates whenever he hears things from the people making them. I think the people who gave in money for the hoods in this group buy, are entitled to share their feelings about it being crazy long delays. Alot of people are counting on their hoods in shorter time frames, including Keith, so it is not unwarranted that I would have posted about the wait. Nowhere in any place in my post did I slander, or direct any statements towards Keith as a person. After his post towards me, that I could go buy it somewhere else, I stated the reason for my posting, was the lack of updates on the board from Feb. to April. I don't think that is out of line considering the person in charge of the group buy usually gives updates more frequently, especially when new delays and progress occurs. That is the way I have seen every group buy happen, so I reacted to his post. Anyway, the fact that the hoods are late, and it's taking a long time, doesn't mean Keith is not a good guy, or respected member. It just means the company he is dealing with, is either unorganised, or shoveling a bunch of crap and excuseses Keith's way. All we ask is for updates, that's all. There is no question of trust here. We are not thinking we are being ripped off. Thanks for your concern in this matter, but honestly, there is no need to stick up for Keith, I respect him the same as other members. The posts are a reaction to the suppliers delays, not Keith himself.

I can put and end to this all the first 1GA hood will be coming out the mold tommorrow I have been keeping in touch with them as I have HOOds of my own being made. I will be checking back on wednesday to see how many they have out of the mold and ready for shipping...so keep your pants on and hoods should be along in the next week or 2 ..

Hey Jeremy, maybe if you have the information for the supplier, you could post it on here so we could get updates from him so we don't have to bug Keith. I was looking into another group but that is taking a long time, run by Jon Arnett. It's in this forum too, and I noticed lots of people asking and Jon posting right after they asked with updates and info. That was all I was hoping for, but I understand Keith is quite a busy guy, so has less time to do so. Anyway, not trying to keep this going, just thought I'd add an example of what I was talking about earlier in the thread. Hope the hoods come soon.

how much would it be for a first gen carbon fiber hood. And how long from now would it be in?

I just spoke with someone from the place that is manufacturing the hoods. He told me they had a hard time locating a clean stock hood to make the moulds for the second gen hoods, so that's why it is taking so long. He told me he is scheduled to start the second gen hoods this coming Monday, and they will be ready in 2 weeks time. Hope this helps out for people who were wondering how things were going.

the first hood for the 1gA's is done they need to test fit it to a car so if anyone has a 1gA that they don't mind popping of there hood and are in the burlington area that would be great let me know asap thanxs... talonturbo@hotmail.com

I talked to Keith a couple of weeks ago, and he mentioned that they had guaranteed him that they be done for the end of this month. I will call the manufacturer again, and see what they say. I'll keep you guys posted if I hear anything.

Can't take this anymore...Im gonna drive all the way the FAk!!! up there and test the hood tomorrow so that these hoods can be sent out..I talked to them and the test hood has been ready for 3 weeks now just seems to be no one wants to test fit the thing ...so ima go do it...

I tried to call today, but nobody was answering the phone there. The last time I talked to them, they were waiting on a 2G hood for two months so they could get the molds going. It was April 25th that they told me the hoods would be ready in two weeks. When I talked with Keith, like I mentioned, he informed me they GUARANTEED them before the end of this month. I'm not sure what the guarantee means really though, considering it's either they make them, or they don't. If I find out any other information, I'll post it up on here.

95-99 is goin to be last unfortunatly but should still fall end of the month delivery

Are you going to drill holes for the windshield washer squirters? Or adapt to a different system?

Are you going to use hood pins?

i am sure I will run with the hood pins some thing low and sleek looking nothing big and bulky..and Ya I may put the squirters back in or run with a squirter on the wiper itsself havn't looked into it ..good question thou

Hmm, I never noticed the windshieldwasher squirter spots not being there. Aren't most CF hoods made with those squirters in them?? Jeremy, did they mention anything about the rest of the hoods while you were there? I spoke with Keith, and he was bringing them a hood for the mold. Just curious.

Holy sh!t!! I talked to them over a week ago, and they said the hoods would be done by the first weekend in June. I guess that's not going to happen if they still don't have a hood to make a mold.

Maybe they could just buy a 1G hood in good shape from a wrecker, or even buy a brand new one, to get things moving?

It's an investment, after all... unless doing so totally kills their profit margin. But they could probably still sell the new one, after using it, for a small loss.

It's a 2G hood they need(95-98). The guy told me that he had a couple so far, but they had some imperfections, so he was waiting to get a perfect hood to make the mold. I hope things get going soon. I need that hood for upcoming shows like Keith does too.

Right then, take what I wrote above, and replace "1G" with "2G".

Still might want to suggest it... it seems reasonable, and wouldn't hurt as long as everyone is civil about it.

if some one wants a 2g hood so bad then they should donate theres for the mold if it is not in use....thats my sugestion

I would donate mine, but I'm a bit far, and it's in use. It's really not about if we want one so bad. We should not have to give up our hoods to get a mold done. The group buy was offering 1G and 2G hoods. There was nothing about anyone having to donate one for a mold. How do other companies get hoods for their molds? I'm pretty sure VIS is not asking their customers for their stock hoods so they can make a mold for the hood. It's been a REALLY long time now, so this company should have had the hoods to make the molds before they accepted to do the group buy, instead of making the group of people wait since January for something they promised for a month later. I realise there have been some bumps in the road, and it's not Keith's fault, because he is the organiser, not the one making them, but this is getting crazy now. I was talking to the guy from the company making them April 25th. He told me that the hoods would be ready in two weeks from that date for sure. They were getting a hood for the mold, and everything would be underway. Now it's May 28th, and none of us have a hood except you Jeremy, and you had to go up their yourself to get it, which is not acceptable for people who live quite a distance away from the factory. Like I've mentioned before, these guys may have good quality products, but they are the worst company I have ever dealt with for organization. Keith and I have been talking, and we both agree this is rediculous. The last time I spoke with him, he said the hoods would be done this coming weekend, but Jeremy is telling us they are still waiting on a hood, so I don;t see how this is possible, considering the guy on the phone from the factory told me it takes two weeks to get them done. This is unacceptable, but we have no choice but to wait. We all need them for certain things, I have a show coming up, and Keith some photoshoots. If I would have known this was going to be so stupid, I would have never gotten involved, and neither would Keith.
