Now, I'm not actually sure if anyone would want to do these (Ziggy, hint, hint).

But I would love to see a full stainless steel key for our cars, that we could get cut to be our car key.

I've seen some kickass ones for STI's and such, but none for dsms.

Basically my idea would be the head of the key in stainless, with the dsm logo nicely cut into it.

Any thoughts, or interest?

That would be great because we all know how those pesky keys rust up on ya. tongue

The problem is Jon, you cant jsut machine a key. Well you can but ziggy would have to charge an arm and a leg and a left nut to do so. You need to find Stainless blanks that are compatible with our keys. As for the engraving, thats gravey and Ziggy could handle that no problem if it was in his best intrest to do so. So my suggestion is researching where to find stainless blanks compatible with our keys first.

OR are these keys you speak of just a head attachment for a normal key?? If worse comes to worse, find me a blank and I will CNC engrave you a fancy logo on it in exchange for a favour in the speeding ticket area. wink

The problem is I don't even know where to get a nice blank for our cars...

As for the stainless part, it's not for the rust proof thing obviously...it's just that stainless is strong.

Actually some of the subbie guys are running these titanium keys now, they sell for around $45 each.

Im kinda interested now. Find some blanks Jon, and post a pic.

At the very least, I might be able to help and do a FEW for us, but thats it really. Anything more than a hand full and I risk getting questioned at work on my intentions of personal CNC machine use, which is cool with them as long as its not for personal profit. Any more than a few would be considered production if you know what I mean.

I already have CAD of the Talon logo (same as Ziggy's front grill ornaments) That would be my # 1 chioce. Even though I can scale the CAD down pretty small, the head on the key would have to be a decent size for it to be a nice detailed machined peice.

I would like a key that wouldn't bend in my door. I have two key's for my talon, neither of them will open the door, and one of them will barely open the trunk. They're way to stiff, they work fine in the ignition, but they just twist in the doors and trunk.

This can appearently be purchased through the Subaru dealer for $35usd and they are titanium as well. Just need to find a manufacturer of a Mitsu blank. After much searching, I think its safe to say no one makes them. Im sick of googling.

Gosh that STI key is sick. It looks more like a key to a nuclear initiation sequence than to a car!!!

We all need these. ppg

That STI titanium is exactly what my buddy has. The cutter actually said it might be too strong for his machine, but was able to do it.

The mitsu key there looks pretty good, but if the head was just steel with the mitsu or dsm logo etched into it, it would be perfect.

I really have no idea where else to get blanks.

I've had a butterfly Knife key for about as long as ive had my talon.
Its pretty cool except for the key rattles a little bit when its in the ignition and sometimes at bars or clubs they wont let you in with it
