Anyone up for a test & tune on September 15th at Cayuga Dragway???
Hopefully it won't be too hot, and our cars will run nice and smooth.
If we can get a good group of people, why not organize a BBQ, everybody brings something, and we can all have some fun. A little bit of racing with a BBQ on the side, I think it will turn out to be a great day.(Will they allow that??)
Let me know what you guys think.

Ya that would be good Vince... I could use someone running 16s, 15s and 14s to boost my confidence a little .

I love seeing FWD's spin all the way to the end of the 1/4 and then pick up their high 14-15 second slip....it should be fun.

Just line up and race against the guy in the other lane. No eliminations... just race as often as you like (or the line ups let you). Stinger's first time out to the track ever... I don't expect too much .

We'll see there Paul . It's tough for a car to run mid 13s out of the box but I may be able to.

Sure it will . Old school cars = lots of traction spray on the track... add to that a hot sun = wicked 60 fts .

Damn Mopar day was cancelled tomorrow... it's still going to be an open T&T plus bracket racing. Should be quite empty considering the import day is today... lots of racing . I'm still going for sure, I think my brother will too. Tim Hunt is coming last I heard and Paul Bishop was considering it.

Yes we will have a little battle of the FWD vs. AWD's! Hot sun and cool breeze would be ideal.
Vince hopefully you will come out, I wanna shake the hand of the man that posts pictures of granny driving an S2000 yelling "where's the torque?" on a Honda ricer forum...LOL
Darko, I may be wrong but full knock sum at only 13psi with a frount mount IC sounds like you got bigger problems than just gas. Don't think racegas will do anything for you, but hopefully you isolate the problem before then...

I'll come if I get my rad fixed (its spewin steam and coolant like a biotch now). The knock problem SEEMS to be phased out, but that's just my ass tellin me that. I gotta log it before then, cuz I dont wanna waste time and money goin down there to run with knock.I thought that if we were having a club event we were supposed to be very courteous, law obiding folk, that way we don't get the same rep that the Honda boyz have, I mean we are already considered chumps, just because we got exhausts, do we really need to give them another reason to bad mouth us, keep the races at the track, sh!t man I mean that's where we're going aren't we?

Just trying to give you a hard time Darko, it usually gets followed by a pretty funny reply from ya,(I think most ppl on this board enjoy that) but hey thanx for pointing that out...
p.s. There's a difference between driving fast and racing...

Vince, i think a lot of ppl is still going.
it's not hard to get there... from the QEW Niagara it's just southbound on highway 20 (which turns into hwy 56-past Hamilton). You will past the towns of Binbrook and Empire (something). Make a right on hwy 3 (which is a T).. head westbound #3 for about 10mins and you will see the cayuga sign on the left side of the road. This is where you turn left and you will reach in in about another 5mins.
i'll meet u guys at the timmies at mud st. and hwy 20 @ 8.30. I'll join you guys but I wont be racing.

Looking at the radar here it looks like it will be a dry day in t.o. in the afternoon, so guesstimating here, but it should be ok in Cayuga mid morning, think about it, most ppl won't wanna go and if we go we can get more runs in...

Todays Test and tune turned out pretty good.
Although we thought we were in for a big dissapointment as Cayuga scheduled an event w/ T&T in between the rounds. But ironically due to rain we got to run more.
most of us managed to get in 5-6 runs in before the event got rained on ang got canceled. Good turn out with about 10 DSMs and most of us had a good time there (I know Darko did..hehe)
as for me, the first run was a write off... no traction and I sat there spinning my tires ending up with a 16sec run (lol!), my last 3 runs were 14.9secs...slower than my personal bests but I kindda expected those times from the problems i've been having with my car.

I think I only got 3 runs in ... I needed one or two more. First run out of the box 13.402 (new best) @106.87. The other 2 runs were shittier launches, however, after some between run tuning the 2nd run was @107.05 and the final 108.44 (new best). I needed a few more to get it tuned right and get a good lauch with a fast trap. Oh well. She spit out the dipstick on the last run on me though . So I keep slpwly widdling my best ET and traps each time but only by a little. Need a few more days at the track this year. I might try Sparta next.

My best run (out of 4) was a 13.8 at 97 mph... on 13psi and 25knocksum in 3rd gear. I backed that up with a 13.9 at 95mph. Both times I had low 1.8 second 60' times, launching at 6200ish RPM and hangin on for dear life. Needless to say im extremely happy that I broke 13s with such little effort from the turbo, and that much knock. Who knows, there may just be a 12 in this thing before the season is out JR broken into 13s as well on his T25, but he can talk about that himself. Im damn happy that I decided to stay for the runs!!!

It wasn't a good day for me, best I could do was 14.6........and that was on my 1st run.
My brother was happy though. He got a 15.2 in his Civic, I just don't remember the trap speed.

Wahoo! Today I had a ball. It was my first time ever on a track. I started off a little rough with a 15.549@92.76mph. I had a real crappy 60' of 2.89! After a little more testing than tuning, and on my 4th run of the day I ran an awesome 13.88@95.29mph and a 60' of 1.88. Sweet! All this on a puny T-25 and a factory I/C. The rest of the DSMers also had a fun time. We have to do this again.

It's good to see some new personal bests. I Dj'd ay my buddies party Saturday night in London and didn't end up going to sleep till 6:30am... I took a look out the window at 9:00am and saw wet ground and a bit of rain...I said screw it I am going back to sleep (which was only for another 45min, that's when someone decided it was a good idea to go out for breakfast). Mike J, You just keep getting faster and faster every time out to the track....I remember those days enjoy them while they last and hope that one day you won't drop a full second like me... 13.4 Nice job you really need some more tuning time though, 3 runs isn't enough and I bet you had to wait for ever betwen runs. That's pretty close to a 13.2....but we all know how the rest of the saying goes that saying goes, something about horse shoes and hand grenades

Thanks for the props Vince. But as for that little jab... let's see your 108.44 mph slip? I'm faster... you're just a tad quicker. Another couple more times out and I'll catch your ET too .

Yeah, I want another kick at the can before year's end too. Somehow, my car ran SLOWER yesterday with the big 16G @12psi than it did with the 14B @15psi earlier this year. I guess it wasn't too much of a surprise since my Butt Dyno told me that already. Guess I have some tuning to do...

I wasn't sure if I was going to mention my time but what the hell. 16.79 @ 84.36mph I didn't know it at the time but I have major knock issues. Borrowed Jermery's logger on the way home from Cayuga and found out that i was getting max. knock sums at at about 25% throttle. Heck I was getting knock going down hill . So my knock sensor is completely shot.I'll be getting a brand new and hopefully she'll run a lot better. Stay tuned.

No one is supposed to run a 16g at 12psi (unless you're Darko ). Going from 12 to 15psi should be a world of a difference. I rally feel it when I go from 15 to 17psi. You may have knock issues like Tony too.

Yeah, you're right about comparing the turbos at different boost levels. I just expected more from the 16G but at such low boost it's unrealistic.
I'm playing it safe with boost until I get bigger injectors. I logged the car a couple weeks ago and had almost no knock, so that shouldn't be the issue. I do have a boost leak tho; I can hear it like a shrill whistle at anything more than 8psi. I think it's the BOV.
I'm definitely up for another another T&T before the end of the year so I can pull off some decent times.
