Well I guess the Vince vs Mike J jabs are coming to an end as Vince seems to have decided to bring his bike and not his Talon to settle the score once and for all. Oh well it was getting old and tired anyway (his car too) wink

I'll be bringing my video camera too so I should be able to get video and pics of the races.

I'm getting way too pumped up over this (I've only been out once this year and that was months ago).

I guess I might still be on althought I wont be running. My new engine is on the stand tonight as I just finished removing the balance shafts and waiting on a few gastkets. So ...as it looks, the new engine wont be in the car(even if it is, the new clutch will need to be broken in).

I guess I'd play camera man for the day

I rather drive in there solo. less chances of gettign nabbed by cops.

Unfortunately I am unable to make it to the track on the 6th.
Anyone from the GTA that could pick up a part from Jeremy Chin for me? shuffle
I would be able to meet up with you during the week for pick-up.

I think it would be a great idea to have a DSM BBQ on Sunday. What do you guys think???

I have a portable BBQ which I can bring, if everyone could bring some food and drinks, I think we can all have a nice lunch all together.

Let's get it organized.....

Sorry I could'nt make it guys.
It turns out I had lose upper and lower inputshaft bolts.
I just spend my afternoon getting some Synthetic gear oil, removing my transaxle cover and re-torquing down the bolts.

Anyways, theres always next time.

All fixed, my problem was a combination of three things.
-non-synthetic gear oil
-lose upper/lower input shaft bolts
-clogged transaxle air breathers

Shifting like butter now.

I was wondering what where the results? What kinda times you guys get? How many runs and the wait between runs? Everyone made it through the day with no problems? And last but not least any hassles from the police coming or going?

Why? because no one showed up.

So much for talk.

I went in and spent $20 hoping to get some good DSM footage and guess what? Mike, Jeff and Bali were the only DSMs running.

We brought in so much food and drink. Thank you Carlos for bringing in the BBQ.

Great showing for that much talk. tongue

Yeah really weak turnout, and we picked kinda a crappy day to go since it was some sort of domestic eliminations points race, plus junior dragsters were also running. Would have been much better to go for just a plain test and tune day.

Track conditions were tough sice one lane was real slippery and the other was very grippy. Made launching a chore. On one side you'd sit there frying tires 'till third and on the other it would mean bogging badly. There simply wasn't enough passes to get use to it.

Best I could manage was a 14.3 at 100.5mph
This was at 15psi on pump. I guess thats decent considering track conditons and the 30C+ temps.

I was surprised to see only 3 DSMs racing. Oh well... hope some of that food kept till you got home and could refridgerate it smile .

I ran some more 13.1s but couldn't get a 12. So I will shut up about 12s. I also got my trap speeds up to the 111s again. On my last run I checked and found a fluid leak under the tranny bah ... not cool, bad flashbacks. Turns out it was only that the filler bolt backed out and it was leaking from that hole. I rigged up a special plug and drove her home without any troubles. I'll top it up, replace the bolts and keep checking for leaks.

13.1's ain't bad Mikey. Hell of a lot better than Kinnairdo in his "stupidfast" FWD smile

111 seems slightly low though? Or was this a pump gas thing? If so I take it back tongue

That was on race gas. Remember I have an unported unlipped 16G. But I could not get it to hold more then 19~20 psi (I wanted 22). If I set the boost controller higher it would go up to like 22 but always drop right back down. I'll have to figure that one out (I've already been given an idea to try). Oh well.

On the way there I also did a short highway pull with a C5. I had all the tools and rims and my brother in the car (250~300 extra lbs total) and punched it from 110 km/hr without downshifting from 5th. It ended up being dead even until I let off. So I know now for sure she can handle C5s on the highway no problem under regular circumstances smile .

I had all the tools and rims and my brother in the car (250~300 extra lbs total) and punched it from 110 km/hr without downshifting from 5th. It ended up being dead even until I let off. So I know now for sure she can handle C5s on the highway no problem under regular circumstances smile .
I guess that trany bolt wasn't worrying you that much lol.

13.331 was my best I think, however, my launches were far less consistant without it. And I still haven't learned to launch with this LSD properly yet.
