How much do they help? I mean, how much would you notice on a launch with slicks?

^^^ Another thing to consider is some good wheel hop can still grenade the open differential with the insert installed. I have the quaife and even at the price I would still say its defently worth it, when I installed it, it was like driving a whole new car. Could get right on it through a turn that would normally cause massive wheel spin. With a lower end set of ZR rated 225 wide tires, traction in first was a tonn better and it would just slightly slip abit in second where as pre LSD would slip all the way through second. This is running 18-20 psi on an evoIII with all supporting mods, cams, etc.
My tires are getting pretty low & have 3 summers use so are getting pretty hard so now it spins more through second but I will have a set of Kumho MX's next summer so we'll see if these things grip the way their talked up too.
My first time at the track was a couple weeks ago and the traction that day was very bad as it was only about 5 deg, even the awd cars were coming off the line sideways. I pulled a bunch of 2.3 60 fts and that was on the same crap worn out tires. Im sure with some good tires and with some more practice I could see 2.0's on street tires.

^^^ Well, Nick, if your slut of a dowel finds 2 of those, hook me 'n Rob up here!!! I am planning on running slicks, as I have a friend who I can get them from. I run ZR tires (Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD3's) with less than 1 season on them, lots of tread left. The thing is, I had stock susp. and when I would try to heat up the tires, all I would do is bounce, and off the line, with a pooched clutch, I would either spin 1 tire or turn the wipers on. Tired of that, so I want an LSD. I run that cheap-ass profec mod for my boost. Stock in 1st, and (at the time) 15psi in 2-4th. It helps a lot and I would recommend it to any FWD guy, or anyone who wants dual stage just so you're not running 20 PSI daily. Good thing about it is, if you wanna give a lady who's riding with you a bit of a show, "flick" and you're at 20 PSI.
