This is a question that someone like marco should know the answer to. Do these injectors fit into DSM's?

I can easily answer that question....

YES!!!

the only exception is that some the in injectors are HIGH impedance (high ohms) and the DSM's use low impedance injectors. But it is very easy to change a DSM to high impedance... only 4 wires....

on the sdie note:
If you can get a 84 FUEL INJECTED RX-7, you can get 680cc injectors... (have those waiting in my garage for me to come home to)

I hope that helps....

I also heard you have to modify the harness connector a little to get the DSM connector to coupple properly. True? What is involved exactly in converting to the High impedance injector? Is it the resistor pack?

Thanks for the info Jerry. The reason I asked is that these injectors are readily available at the Mazda Partstrader and the Ebay websites.

Hey Jerry, what about the 85 RX7? Were the 680's carried over to the last year of the 1st gen or was it an 84 thing only?

Well I was doing some reading about RX7 injectors and this is what I know so far.

- 84 had 680cc
- 85 had 720cc
- 86-92 NT had 460cc
- 87-89 Turbo had 550cc
- 93+ had 850cc

Can anyone add to the list or correct me on these numbers?

That's $100 for each injector, not a set of 4. [Linked Image]

Haha. You're right. Never caught that. But really, I've found a bunch of people on the net selling 550's from their TII's for $100us for the set of 4. Very cost effective mod.

Yea but don't you have to have them balanced? How much is that going to cost?

Dan,

Are you sure the 93- have 850cc???? let me find out more..
In that case I'll pick some up in Japan..
I don't think they do..
You also have to remember RX-7 .. have primary and secondary injectors... they are different sizes.. so to get 4 550cc's you need 2 motors..

Cleaning is about $35to get cleaned, flow tested and balanced.

Jerry

93 rx-7 injectors are 850 and 550 but they are side feed so they will not work.
84-85 rx-7 are 600cc, 86-87 n/t are 460cc low impedance and 88-91 turbo are 550 high impedance. the connectors are also different.
I sell all my injector for $50 if you need connectors I have them too. if you have any other questions phone me at 416-674-3888
