okay, i am very unclear on this,
a) how much boost can a 14 b run?
b) how much is safe for me to run? ( i dont have an egt)
c) the other day my boost creeped to about 22 psi, and i was not getting any fuel, cut and or bucking, but, the car did not feel any faster than 15 psi, is this because
1) my bov was leaking?
2) the ecu retarded igniton so far, that the extra boost was being unused?
if 2) is true, what do i need to rectify the situation?
thanks guys..

a) around 18 - 20
b) around 15
c) The 14b heats the air so much at that boost level that the hp gain is offset by the hotter air, and yeah your timing probably got retarded.

THe 14b can be run up to 20 psi but isn't very efficient up past 18~20 or so.
Yes your timing was getting retarded.
Yes you need to recify that. The timing was getting retarded due to knock which is bad. One of these days you may lost a piston if you keep running 22 psi. Theres no way in hell the stock fuel system can give you enough fuel for that. On top of that your side mount IC will be heat soaking and your turbo will be a spewing very hot air.

It's not a matter of how much boost your turbo can put out, it's a matter of how much boost your fuel system can handle.
Do search on "fuel pump rewire" and walbro.
Basically the stock fuel system isn't good for anything over 15psi and depending on state of tune, that may be even pushing it. Anything over 15psi and you're just blowing hot air. If you're going to be turning up the boost you should at least have an 02 gauge, preferably an EGT and data logger. You need some way to monitor the fuel situation.
But before ou search for anyhing on the board have a look in the 1000 q&a's, most of your questions can be answered there, the link is in my sig.

The fuel pump rewire is already done...
future plans will be a 2G mani, and an EGT at the same time, with porting to alleviate creep... I am considering a 190 lph fuel pump, cause I can get one for free out of a TT stealth,
if i upgraded the FP then I need a fuel pressure gauge, and an upgraded sender unit that can return more fuel right?? that starts to get pricy, so I am hoping the EGT is going to tell me that I am not significantly knocking,
also I think I have just become accoustomed to the boost, ( it no longer spikes to 22 psi, i tightened a bunch of vacum hoses), because i took a camaro with an LS1 on the weekend... and I am pretty sure the timing is not retarding with the 15-17 psi..
