I bought a fuel pump off of a member of this board almost two years ago and I never needed to install it because the stock fuel pump was sufficient. However I'm getting ready to get this car to show up for the party so I'm going to need to get this thing installed, but I have a question.

The member that sold it to me said it was a wally 255. Stupid me never thought to double check it so I purchased a 2G install kit for a wally last week. The kit showed up and I was surprised to find out the filter didn't fit. So after closer inspection I discover that it's a Denso 260LPH pump and not a wally 255.

So my first question is, has anyone ever install one of these and did they require extra hardware? It looks a lot like a stock pump but I won't know for sure until I pull the stocker and try and install this. I'll probably just go try it anyways, but I'm hoping someone has installed one of these bad boys before.

My other question is order of install. I have the Denso pump I referred to already, plus I have an aeromotive AFRP and some Delphi 750cc injectors that should arrive shortly. What order should I install these in? I like to install things one at a time to make trouble shooting much easier.

I was thinking of doing the injectors first since I have DSMLink and I can easily control them, then I wanted to do the AFRP so I could set the base pressure and get that running smoothly and finally put the pump in. Anyone think I should do otherwise to make my life easier?

Thanks!

Go with the FPR first, you have log's of the stock FPR for comparison so you know what you need to replicate, then I would put in the fuel pump, it should be an "invisible" mod, it shouldn't change the way the car run's. Then the injector's should be last. My reasoning for that is 750's may be able to overrun the stock pump at higher rpm's caousing a loss of fuel pressure causing thing's to lean out.

I think its a good idea to put in your injectors first. Like you said you have dsmlink so no problems there. And then you could do the afpr and lastly the pump. If you put the pump in first you need the afpr I think to prevent overrun.

Is this pump the same as the supra tt one? I have one in my 1g and am moving it over. If its same pump then have seen one installed in a 2g but not sure what mods were done think a few small tweaks.

I put in new supra pump, injectors and afpr all at once in my 1g and tuned them with just my maft at the time and the car ran fine. Later got a custom chip for better control of timing with the 650s I had.

As a side note I still have my supra pump in my 1g and think I am getting regulator overrun with it as sold my maft,650s and afpr since going with different setup in the 2g similar to yours.
I am pretty much decided to run aeromotive reg also but undecided if want to run delphi or maybe rc or denso injectors.

Does anyone know where you can buy denso injectors past 720 cc size?

Thanks Tim, that's the input I was looking for and I completely agree with what you say.

Allan, my 750s that are coming are Delphi from FP.

I agree with Tim

I had my 720s in without fuel pump or regulator.
When trying to lean it out enough for 36psi of FP I ran into timing knock issues

I had all 3 items at the time but I tried to do one at a time, but did them in the wrong order. lol

Thanks for backing that up with your experiences.

Now, can anyone clarify the Denso part? Will I need hardware? I'm gonna do a search, I just remembered I didn't do that yet.

EDIT: Found this:
