I'm looking for a new set of wheels and tires for my '95 TSi AWD. So far I've narrowed my tire choices down to Dunlop SP 8000 or SP9000, or Bridgestone Potenza RE71. I'm hoping to get 225/45/17 and put them on 17x7 Konig Villains.

The car is mostly street driven, although I am doing some autocrossing now and then. And of course, being on the west coast, wet traction is especially important in my choice.

Anyone have any experience with this combination on a '95 or any other rims or tires I should look for?

Thanks.

Jason

Hey man.....
I just bought BFGoodrich.... Euro T/A's nice tire for a reasonable price...
I just bought 225/45/17's for $250 a pop...
Will these fit on our cars... with a 17" 7.5 rim?

BFG Comp T/A's are reasonably priced. I run 225/45/17's on 8" rims.

I run 225/45/17 Yokohama a0008p's on 17/7.5 rims no problems...I have been looking for new tires though, and it seems like there are some lower priced quality tires coming out from companies like Kumho, Sumitomo and Yokohama...check out the tire rack at

I used to have some potenza on my storm some times back... They were the best tires I ever had on dry pavement... even with almost only 2/32 tread left... my friend is still using them on his jetta now... and they are almost slicks! He says they still hold great... but I'd have to say that they sucks in wet conditions...
