I am looking at replacing the stock suspension on my 95 TSi AWD. Can anyone provide info on coil-overs vs regular (aftermarket) springs?

I am looking at replacing the shocks with adjustable Konis but don't know about the springs. My original plan was to use Eibach Pro springs (1 1/4"drop). I don't want the car lowered too much, and having it stock (or higher?) during winter wouldn't be a bad thing.

I see a set of Skunkworks coil-overs on ExtremeMotorsports page that are 350 USD vs 250 USD for the Eibach springs. Does anyone know about these, or other brands of coil-overs? I had always thought coil-overs would cost 500+ USD. Specifically I would like to know...

1. What range of ride hight can you get from stock?
2. How much travel in the springs is there, and should you change the springs depending on how much you lower it? i.e. is the ride super stiff regardless if you lower it a lot or a little.
3. Any other bits of information someone who doesn't know much about coil-overs should know before buying?

thanks,
Originally stock, but too much fun to modify freak
