I'm going with crossdrilled rotors and I need some advice as to what pads to use. And where to get them. Thanks in advance.

I also had the cross drilled rotors and the 2 piston calipers installed right before winter thanks to a club member's help.

I have KVR carbon matellic pads in the front and just CT premium pads at the back. So far they work good. I got the KVR from Performance Import.

You can get axxis metalmasters brake pads for 40-50 bucks from napa, some stores have them while some dont. As long as the store uses Altrom.com as one of their distributors, they can get them for you.

I went from kvr's to these axxis pads, they seem to grip a lot harder.

I have PBR metal master on my car which is the same company that makes axxis. It seems to work pretty good for everyday driving, but never try them out at autox or race track.

I have been using the PBR Pads for the past four years and have done lots of lapping. I personally think they work better than the KVR.

I have seen KVR Pads overheat and melt as they got hot (very hot mind you).

Problem with a "Composite material" Pads (like KVR) is the fact they don't transer the heat out of the Rotor as a Metal pad would... KVR pads are good for the street but I'd stay away from Lapping with these.

For street and some track use the PBR is probably the best bag for your bucks. You'll pay about $55can for a set of PBR through Altorm/NAPA and between $100 and $125 can for the O'metly KVR...

Some of the full Race Pads will not work properly on the street as you can bring them up to operating temp. They will ether not have a good bite or will chew up the Rotors in no time.

Hope you enjoy.

Ghislain.

Thanks for the advice everyone, I think I'm gonna go with the PBR pads. I can't really go wrong with Ghislain's experience with them and the price is excellent seeing as I'm on a budget.

I bought a set of semi metalics from Martin and KW Mitsu and I've had no problems with them so far.

Hey Noah.

Did you happend to see if their was any marking as to who makes the Pads for Mitsu???

I never heard of any feedback from a Mitsu "made" Pads. They might be an interesting Semimetalic Pad.

How much were they???

Ghislain.

They weren't Mitsu pads, it's just what Martin suggested since I was in the middle of getting the 6 bolt and didn't want to pay big $$$ for fully metalic pads.

I honestly don't remember the cost now. I'd have to find the receipt. Sorry.

If you want to stop on a dime and be able to do some lapping as well, I would get Carbotech Panthers. Also try Williams Friction. They are in Barrie, ONT. and make many types of pads.
