I'm interested in getting some adjustable control arms since I've lowered my car. Mach V sells a pair for $200 US.

Anyone tried these, or know of another source?

Similar, but not identical: rear camber adjustment kit from Taboo Speed Shop.

I should have mentioned I'd investigated those as well, but the design just seems a bit sketchy to me. I guess the bolts wouldn't loosen on their own, but if they did...? eek

Does anyone use the ones from Taboo?

There is the Ingalls Engineering set, I suppose. I don't think they are cheaper than $200 US.

I don't have them and I don't know much about them.

Here's a link: Ingalls Mitsu page

Otherwise I'd say your options are limited. The Taboo ones do look a little cheezy. I have seen a picture of the Ingalls and they do look much better.

The one's Mach V sell are the ingall's engineering rear control arms. Check the history of these arms, they used to have problems breaking around the balljoint area.

I've run the Ingalls ones on 2 of my cars and have never had any problems. You should also be able to find them much cheaper than $200 US, I believe I paid around $125 CDN for my set, it pays to hunt around.

Taboo's design was originally a DIY FAQ. If I recall correctly, the material the brackets were made of was stronger than the original control arms. I've never heard of anyone losing a bolt out of them. Still, up to you.

I've been riding on adjustable rear control arms, problem free, for about 2 years now. The design is very similar to (although I think better than) the Taboo ones. If you've ever looked closely at a set of stock control arms, it would become pretty obvious that one could easily make home-made adjustable ones (using the same design principal as the Taboo ones) that would be at least as strong as the stockers. As long as the adjustment bolts are not carrying any of the vehicle's weight, you're set. There are some naysayers that would have you believe the Taboo-style control arms are great for people looking to die young. Again, if the setup is "tight" enough to take the weight off the bolts, there's no danger.
