I would like to know,up to what year did Mitsubishi put their engines into the Hyundai. The reason I ask is I would like to shoe horn the 2.0 turbo into the Hyundai Accel, or the little 4 door(can't remember the name). All help is appreciated. PS: I do love the Hyundai Cars, Because I own the 2000Tiburon(Waiting for supercharger to arrive) Peter Jager

Its my understanding thast Hyundai still uses the mits powerplant. I know they used them while I wrenched on the 84 to 87 ponies. so definetly started with mits. Anyone know any different. (BTW, talk about a lot of work transforming an excel or elantra to turbo, I mean, a sonata I could see but....) ------------------ Shawn ( Really my wifes car) Basso Love those f-bodies

Ok Hyundai daddy is here Hyundai stoped using mitsubishi motors in the late 90's ,like 96 or 97, than they came out with their own design called the alpha motors i think they are still called the that or they might have changed the names. But the Hyundai made engines are prety well made as i see and hear review's on it. But as Shawn said in the begining since 1984 when the pony came into production than the stellar in 85 they used mitsu motors. Im sure u could fit the 2.0 turbo motor in the excel cause its as small as a 91 scoupe and i know someone who ran a scoupe with that motor. Also you could slide that motor right in the elentra cause they came with the same motors as the talon 1.8 version, same size just internal size is diff.If you really wanted to fit something in somewhere u can...the guy who built my car put a straight 6 2.8L datsun 280 zx motor into a 1985 Hyundai Pony haha. Peter check my web page out to see that 2.0 turbo motor in my 92 Sonata ! ------------------ DSM Powered Hyundai GO LEAFS GO!!!!!

Thomas: "Hyundai stoped using mitsubishi motors in the late 90's ,like 96 or 97". I'm not sure what you mean by this. Mine is definately a Mitsu 2G NT 16V DOHC. ------------------ Haslands "Tex" Turqejips2000 TIBoreRON 16V DOHCFormer 93 TSI FWD Owner haslands@yahoo.com

Just to add to the abortion debate. (aside from my honda prelude 4x4 small block chev I showed you all earlier) There is a suziki samari running around Peterborough with a pony motor in it. What a difference in power. ------------------ Shawn ( Really my wifes car) Basso Love those f-bodies
