Check this out: http://www.turbofast.com.au/autronic/autotune.html

I can't beleive this. At long last, you can tune your car with simply put whatever a/f reading you want to achieve at different RPM and load points, and the computer will self tune.

What else can I say except that I want one.

Well this http://member.newsguy.com/~gtfour/autronic/softpics.html got me a little bit discouraged though.

Bah, it'd be figured out in time...

Too bad they're based in AussieLand.

yeah, but there is at least 2 resellers in the US, one is TAD motorsport.

When I was at last year shootout, there was this burgundy 1G (jeff hill??) n the Dyno at Bushurs that used one at was getting 438hp at the wheels.

You can do a similar thing with the EFI Systems PMS in standalone mode. Punch in your configuration and the desired a/f ratio and the PMS does the calculations for you. I haven't tried this yet although I will at some stage.

I thought the PMS was just a standalone unit. You can piggyback it as well or something?

Cool, but nobody tries it though. Francois i supposed to tackle it this winter.

The PMS is used mainly as a piggyback system, but it can control the a/f and timing Troy

Call Buschur Racing or Doug Derby and ask them what they think of the PMS. Now, I thought I wasn't the biggest fan of the PMS unit, but these guys truly despise it!

Francois, that's because neither of them has had any luck tuning it. If you can't get what you want out of a product on your own car, why would you promote and sell it. Basic Business 101.

IMHO, I like the PMS and it has proven that it can take a DSM into the 10s. However, once you're making that power (like Buschur) I think you're better off with a complete standalone (eg. Autronic, Haltech, Motec, etc.).

BTW, this post is not meant to start the infamous VPC vs PMS vs ShitHotComputer debate.

Hey, I *do* have a PMS. I didn't have terrific luck with it either, but then, I'm bent on running some ETs that I haven't done *yet*. So I tend to blame everything...

The PMS fuel and ignition system is fine. It's just that crappy boost control that really got on my nerves. Really, teh PMS is not a bad solution for 2gers.

No offence intended, Francois. Sorry if it came across like that.
