No, not quite up & running yet. I wasn't planning on swapping my exhaust mani as my SBR mani is only 2 years old (2 summers use) but when I took everything apart I found some nice cracks, about 7-8 all 2-3 inches long. Obviously wasn't too impressed about that as my whole reson for upgrading the 2g mani was because it had 1 or 2 crackes internally maybe .5" long & the SBR sounded like a nice upgade & was supposed to be superior in the not cracking department, obviously not the case. So I'm just waiting on my evoIII mani from Ziggy (should have it today) & my mani to head stud/bolt kit from the local Mitsu which should have tomorrow. Probably get most of it swapped this weekend but have a couple other small things I'll be doing like swapping the rear brakes with Power Slot rotors & Hawk HPS pads, re-painting rear calipers etc. My plan is to have it up & running for May 1st, then I'll have some reviews on the new setup.

I wasn't planning on swapping my exhaust mani as my SBR mani is only 2 years old (2 summers use) but when I took everything apart I found some nice cracks, about 7-8 all 2-3 inches long. Where did it crack? Was it ported? I have sooooo much work into mine Pretty much you name it & it cracked there It's not their newest design with the cast WG mount, its the design before that but I believe they were cast from the same material. I know their very first batch of like 20 were supposed to have issues but this was bought well after those came out so... I was going to take some pics but from the top there are 2 cracks one in the center of the collector about 2" long & one starting in the collector area & then down a runner, about 3" long. From the bottom there's a nice big one through the divider in the collector & the crack on the top runner looks to go all the way through. There's also a couple more in random areas around the collector on the bottom. This mani wasn't ported by me at all, it was installed the way I received it & I didn't order it with any porting.

I can't believe I actually paid $50us to get my manifold polished, Mike Degli must be rubbing off on me, LOL This is the first time in years I'm actually concerned with how things look, normally its only about how they function. I polished up my fuel rail, going to finish off the turbo (both compressor and turbine), throttle body (can't have that dirty & dull POS touching my sweet SMIM), and water pipe. Notice how my turbo's flanged for a 40mm Tial wastegate? Its all about who you know . I didn't want to have to go out and buy a new v-band wastegate. Can you tell I'm a cheap DSMer I've done a little porting to my 2G manifold. I told myself the next mani I buy will be T4, so this is going to have to do for the time being.

Well I was able to take the car for a small test drive tonight, still don't have everything finished up yet but enough to drive. First impression was love the sound of the ball bearing center section. The evoIII sorta sounded like a vacuum cleaner sucking while the 3052 sounds more like that big rig sound we all love I was just running off the WG so boost was only 10-11 psi but for that amount I'd say I was fairly impressed, I know the evoIII didn't even pull that well at that low of a boost level & being a larger turbo, I wasn't expecting much at that level but it pulled nicely. I was seeing a constant 28 lb/min @ 7000 rpms with a fairly high inlet temp compared to the outside temps as I haven't put the heatshield back on. I was seeing full spool right around 4000 rpms but so far I like the way boost comes on better. It doesn't seem to hit as hard initially as the evoIII but its stays constant all the way to redline while the evoIII would drop off abit. Though when I start running my planned boost, the hit might be abit different. I do like how it doesn't seem like such an on/off pull of the evoIII in the 3000-4000 range. So I'm thinking I'll be right around the planned goal of 40 lb/min with the planned 22 psi that I'll be running next week. I can say one thing for sure, external dumps defently aren't for me. I'm sure adding an extension that I just clamped on, to get it to dump below the car defently doesn't help but IMO it sounds like complete crap. Its pretty loud which I don't mind but the sound is horrible. I would much rater here the turbo at full spool & my nice N1 exhaust over that any day. I will be getting the external recirculated back into the downpipe at a custom exhaust shop in the near future. I attached a couple pics of it so far, I tried to keep it as stock or sleeper looking as possible.
