Ok, there has been some interest expressed in these. I have been in touch with the Zeitronix people in California, and they have a minimum buy in level and a minimum annual sales level that must be maintained to be a distributor for them. I DOUBT that I can mantain the annual sales level with them. Their products are the ONLY thing they offer, and they require $7,000USD in annual sales to be a dealer. I don't see that happening....BUT....they only require a buy-in of $1500.USD. I am thinking if we can do one GOOD group buy, I can get you guys good pricing (not excellent pricing,...for DISTRIBUTOR pricing I would have to do a $5000USD buy in), and I would be a dealer for one year smile .

So, to make this deal happen, I am going to need AT LEAST $1500USD wholesale in sales (5 or 6 units). If we can't reach that, I would have to pay retail, and price would be not MUCH better than ordering individually.

On the PLUS side, because I would LIKE to be a dealer for a year, and possibly offer these on my website when I get it running again, I would really LIKE to meet the buy-in minimum. Therefore, I am prepared to sell these at almost no profit!! (but I DID say ALMOST).

Here is what I propose:

Zt-2 controller, which includes Zt-2 air/fuel ratio meter, Bosch Wideband O2 sensor, O2 sensor harness, Signal harness, Datalogging software, installation instructions, and 2 pin EGT connector. ( I believe this last item is an adaptor to use an existing EGT probe with this unit? ). Regular retail on these is $279USD, which translates to about $335CDN. BEFORE any shipping, taxes, brokerage fees, etc. I am proposing, assuming we can get enough of them, to sell them to you at $299.95CDN. at my door, plus shipping from me to you (if necessary) plus the applicable taxes. You would be saving about $35., PLUS the shipping from the US, plus any brokerage fees you might otherwise pay!

There is also the same setup, but WITH the LCD display, in silver or black, retailing for $399.USD., which translates to about $475 - $480CDN BEFORE any shipping, taxes, brokerage fees, etc. If we can meet the minimum, I would sell these to you guys at $430.CDN., again plus shipping from me to you (if necessary), plus the applicable taxes. You would be saving about $50. PLUS the shipping from the US, plus any brokerage fees you might otherwise pay!

There are also accessories available, and I will try to do similar pricing on those, as long as they are ordered at the same time: Accessories would be available at these prices ONLY if you are purchasing a unit as well, so figure no EXTRA shipping from me to you, just the taxes!

EGT probe and extension harness - $77.USD = $85.CDN
MAP 3.5 BAR boost sensor - $109. USD = $120.CDN
EGT harness - $19.USD = $21.CDN
PDA serial cable - $15.USD = $16.50CDN
Zt-2 serial cable - $15.USD = $16.50CDN
USB serial cable - $29.USD = $31.CDN
O2 bung - $7.USD = $8.CDN
TCAC - $55.USD = $60.CDN

If you are interested, start a list, post your name, and exactly what you would like.

Thanks,
Ziggy

I have moved names here from the original post as it just got too confusing. If you are no longer interested, please remove your name. Otherwise, please add which unit(s) you would be interested in.

Thanks,
Ziggy

1. Scott Conway - Zt-2
2. Charles Kisielewski - ???
3. Chris McKee - ???
4. Adam Edgcumbe - ???

Ziggy, I'm going to take the Zt-2 kit with Lcd display in black and the boost sensor instead of the AEM.

Thanks

Ziggy I will opt for this option as it offers more and i can still log it.
I would be interested in the Zt-2 without digital readout, EGT sensor, Bung and which ever cable you need to log using a Palm

Ok, so current standing:

1. Scott Conway - Zt-2 only = $299.95
2. Charles Kisielewski - ???
3. Chris McKee - Zt-2 + LCD display (colour?) + ? = $430.
4. Adam Edgcumbe - ???
5. Miguel Barros - Zt-2 + LCD display (black) + boost sensor = $550.
6. Evan Vezsenyi - Zt-2 + EGT sensor +O2 bung + PDA cable = $409.45

It looks like we are VERY close. IF Either Adam or Charles confirms, and if no-one backs out, we can proceed smile

Hey Ziggy,

I will take the ZT-2 kit, without the LCD display.

I am still deciding on the LCD display, PDA adapter and the boost sensor and will let you know.

Not sure about everyone else but I am in no hurry for this as my car is in storage. But if you do want to get this over with just let me know and I will make my final order.

Thanks for the time your putting into this.

Helber, that depends on how quickly people get in. I would think another week at least to place orders, and a week after that for people to pay, and at that point I would place the order. Probably a week and a half after that to actually get the goods..

We need to hear from Charles, plus I asked people to spread the word on the BC and Quebec boards as well....it looks like we will have enough, but if we get even more, maybe I can do a smidge better yet on the pricing..although it is already cut pretty fine....

Anyways, I don't think anyone is in a HUGE rush...so let's give this at least another week....so let's say maybe until Friday the 27th for orders, then a week or two to collect payment, and place the order around mid
February, for delivery late February? How does that sound to everyone??

Just one question, Ziggy or anyone else can answer for me. Its seems that this wideband might not read boost measuring beyond 25.5 psi, am I correct on this? not really a big deal but if I ever go past that I would hope it wouldn't effect other readings. plus I was kinda looking forward to taking out my current boost guage.

Ziggy, I will confirm within 4 days or less if that is okay, well before the 27th.

http://www.zeitronix.com/Products/zt2/zt2.htm

On this page there is a chart of input/output ranges, and it looks to me like boost goes to 35.3 PSI

A couple guys have changed their minds, and want the AEM unit instead...

If charles confirms, and no-one backs out, we SHOULD still be able to proceed. Make sure all your friends know about this opportunity..would hate to see this fall apart because we can't get the numbers....

I had said we would keep this available until Friday, but we are also going to need EVERYONE we have now to stay in....if one drops out, this won't happen...

Based on that, if you guys want to start sending in deposits at least, ....maybe we can wrap it up a little early, and get everything moving a little quicker....there doesn't appear to be any more interest, and my big concern is that usually ONE person at least drops out when it is time to put up the cash. Normally, I would not punish the others that DID support a group buy, I would honor the price anyways, but in this case, without ALL the orders I can't get the dealer price break, and we would have to pay full retail! What do you guys think??

Mike, I won't try to convince you one way or the other. I would suggest you see what everyone else suggests, and make up your own mind. I WILL wait a few days while you decide. The AEM deal will be going through FOR SURE, and this Zeitronix deal will be fine as long as no-one drops out! Everyone has their totals above. If you need shipping to you, let me know and I can figure out a price. Otherwise, if you are picking up either at my shop or at Yorkdale, you just need to add taxes to the above prices. If you guys want to start sending in payment, either in full or at least a decent deposit, we can start wrapping this up and get the order placed!

Mike, I will add you to the other group buy, for the AEM Uego. In the meantime, we have one guy, a friend of Scott's, from the US, who also is taking one of the Zt-2, so that is a little bit of an assurance that this deal SHOULD go through. Like I said, I would like some money up front. You can either send me a deposit, or let me know how you will be picking up or if I will be shipping, and I can give you a total with shipping and taxes. Keep in mind, best way to pay is email money transfer (certapay). Credit card or Paypal charge me 3.5%, I would need to add that. Let's get this rolling!!

1. Scott Conway - Zt-2 only = $299.95
2. Charles Kisielewski - Zt-2 + LCD (silver) + USB-serial cable = $461.
3. Chris McKee - Zt-2 + LCD display (colour?) + ? = $430.
4. Adam Edgcumbe - Zt-2 + ?? = $299.95

One has dropped out, so I am not sure now that this will happen! We HAD a guy from the US who wanted one, which would have given us enough, but he cancelled out also. A couple guys have asked for just accessories, so if I include them, we will be close.

So here is the FINAL deal. I am willing to buy one unit or some accessories to put on my shelf, to make up the minimum, IF the 4 guys above are all in and no-one else drops out! I want to wrap this up quickly now, because if anyone else DOES drop out, this will collapse, and I would want to give you guys a chance at the AEM if that happens. Therefore, I would like to have everyone send AT LEAST a $150. deposit ASAP, so that I can get the order placed! If I don't have $150. MINIMUM from each of the four by end of day Thursday, February 2, I will consider this group buy dead, and I will refund any monies that have been paid to me, and will proceed with the AEM Uego buy only.

So Chris, let me know display colour and whether you want any "extras". Adam, please decide also if you want anything besides just the unit, and let's get this DONE! best way to pay is email money transfer (certa pay) to RTM@mountaincable.net

Thanks

edited for spelling

LOL, more people would be good, I don't want to stock this stuff, but I also DO want to get it wrapped up. The AEM guys are getting anxious, and I don't want to close that off until we know FOR SURE if this is going to happen, in case any wants to say: "well, couldn't get the Zeitronix, might as well get the AEM".

Like I said, more people would be great, but let's also consider cash deposit by Feb. 2 a requirement!

Jeff, at this point I will order anything from them to try to keep this group buy alive, LOL. I HATE it when the guys who SUPPORT a buy get left out in the cold because others dropped out. Normally I would always honour pricing for those that DID support, but in this case I can't GET the pricing unless I meet the minimum. In any case, that replacement Bosch sensor, Zeitronix sells for $79USD. I can do $88.CDN. Of course, any shipping and taxes are extra. If you want it, please either add yourself to the list, or email me. Thanks

I have a feeling this is going to collapse. We are already one short, and I have expressed a willingness to buy one unit for "stock" to meet the minimum, but I would also be very surprised if no-one else backs out. That usually happens when it is time to put up some cash, and that time is here. I will wait until Thursday for the final word, but those that have paid so far are:

is this a big enough hint??

Does someone know something bad about this wideband that I haven't found out? Why do most of the guys want the AEM? It doesn't come with logging software...it can't log EGTs? It is known not to be accurate under 12:1 AFR? What good is the gauge when you flying down the road trying to tune???

I am still in on this if everyone else is. Chris, Scott, Charles, are you guys still going ahead with this?

Lets get our deposits together.

It looks to me like you're the one who hasn't done your homework Adam.

What kind of proof do you have that the AEM gauge isn't acurate?

Everyone complaints about the AEM, yet no one can back their statements up.

And as for logging egt's some of us already have egt gauges and don't need to spend the extra cash.

I just found this at the RRE's website:

24 Color-coded LED display lights provide immediate reference to engine’s air/fuel ratio (AFR) or Lambda (11.0:1 to 17.0:1)
Integrated three-digit display reveals AFR or Lambda in real time (10.0:1 to 18.5:1)

So the digital readout, displays beyond the analog lights.

I have one deposit received...that is a good start.

This is supposed to be a group buy, not an argument, LOL! If everyone thought the same, there would only BE one wideband O2! I have no idea which is better, but obviously everyone has their own opinions, and no point fighting over it. No-one is going to force anyone to buy something they don't want!

Like I said, I will buy one unit and put in inventory (or maybe it will eventually end up in my own car, who knows) in order to make this group buy happen, but that is the best I can do.

Now, let's get the other three deposits in so I can get this order placed, and then I can get the AEM guys what THEY want.

Thanks,
Ziggy

Exactly Ziggy,

I was talking to the guys that signed up for the Zietronix group buy, not the guys that are in the AEM buy.

Miguel, why are you so uptight? You signed up for the AEM, and have already made your decision. And I have done my homework, thats why I choose the Zietronics unit.

I am not trying to change anyones mind I just don't understand why we had so many people and then a bunch dropped out?

Anyways lets clean this up.

Adam,
Some people always drop out, usually for financial reasons. You know, "I just had to replace my ???? and now I can no longer afford it". Also, some were undecided and switched to the Uego. I don't think ANYONE had a definitive reason for choosing one over the other. Some guys have said the AEM is crap, others have said they are the greatest! I think no-one has said anything bad about Zeitronix. I think the deciding factor for some people was price, and that is certainly understandable. The Zeitronix sure sounds like a good unit, but if you add the display, it IS a fair bit more money!

Anyways, let's concentrate on the four guys we have, and not worry about those we don't. I have one deposit in, I am pretty sure it is from Charles (I am at home now, can't really check). Let's get at least 50% upfront from you, Chris, and Scott, and I will get the order placed! Otherwise, on Thursday I will refund Charles' deposit, and consider this dead!
