I didn't bother hacking the air can, so I could replace it if I wanted,
I just drilled 4 holes through the MAS and my K and N filter and screwed
them together to create a FIPK. The thing with doing this is that I had
to secure the filter up so it wouldn't fall down by the rad. and
transmission, then I would get funky idle when that happened. The car
sounded quite a bit louder as well.

The problem was after I secured it up and away near the fuse box, I
would still get hot air into the MAS and it would stall my car out
sometimes at stop light, not fun. I wanted to make the intake hose
longer and cram it in the area of my front headlight. So I went and
decided that I would make my own intake hose. I went to home depot and
bought:

-3 in. by 3 ft long PVC pipe (long, you'll have to cut it down)
-3 in. to 3 in. rubber adapter (mates the MAS to the 3 in. Pvc pipe)
-3 in. 45 degree bend to make bend between the battery and the throttle
body.
-I also bought a 3 in. rubber adapter that shrunk down to 2 in. Why
you ask? Because the throttle body is only 2.5 in wide. It's a tight
fit, but it works! Trust me.

You have to piece this together using hose clamps on the rubber
adapters, the ones I bought already had them. And some silicone to seal
the 3 in. PVC pipe to the 45 degree bend. You are going to have to trim
a bit of the battery box off and move the battery as close to the back
of the vehicle as you can. Then piece it all together and start 'er
up.
This mod was moderately difficult, maybe because I built it from
scratch, but if you are fairly handy and can change your oil easily, you
should be fine.

I will hopefully make a web site with pics by the end of the weekend,
but school is getting really busy.

Let me know if you have anymore questions, I will be hopefully borrowing
a G-Force soon and see if it really did anything.

How are you doing???

I got a 1991 Laser RS 2.0L NT and I made an "Adaptor" that I put in the lower part of the front facia (Plastic bumper) You can have a look at it on my web page. Then I ran a 4" ducting from that adaptor to the engine compartment. It is not the ideal set-up but it bring cold air while I'm driving.

For the aircan I think that your idea is pretty good. I did buy an other aircan for winter so I don't run an "Open Filter".

Hope you enjoy.

Yeah, I've seen your page before. The thing I'm concerned about is being able to go back to stock form if I want.

The mod that I did dramatically increased power, but I can't go over 180km/h anymore??? I used to be able to hit 195 last summer, matge it was just the wind, but I want to look into it farther.

My gas mileage since last year has gone down dramatically, I'm hitting just over 400kms on $40 gas of premium, this works out to 19.1 mpg. I'm getting concerned. I'm going to see if my o2 sensor is shot by doing some voltage testing, anything else I should be looking into? Ideas?

Oh yeah, Ghislain change the colors on your web page, the background color and font color make it immpossible to read unless you highlight the "invisible text".
