Squeezing 200+HP out of a 1G NT 4g63 shouldn't be too hard/costly right? (without turbo/super-charging)

-Remove balance shafts
-Remove A/C & P/S
-Lighten flywheel
-K&N w/cut air can.
-Pacesetter Header or Archer Brother's header
-New cat-back exhaust
-Mild porting work
- ?

Total Cost= ?
Total HP = ?

What do you guys think?
I know you could also upgrade the pistons, etc, but aiming at work that wouldn't require the head being removed.

ishh !

You should be at about 180 hp with those mods ... If your lucky ! I would add cams, new plugs and wires, bored throttle body ... This just on top of my head [Linked Image] Go to the 2gNT site, there is a staged upgrade path for 420A that should be very similar to the 4G63 NA ... With about everything except head work, it gives about 200 hp !

just my 2 cents ...

Hello All.

1g 2.0L NT MT injector are 375cc/min. Max 80%duty cycle is about 300cc/min. I,m pretty sure that they would be maxed at 150 HP... I'd have to redo my calculation as I'm just trowing these out of my poor little brain without refering to my previous calculation.

All this to say that the injectors might need to be changed in order to get 200 HP out of a NT. Probably swaping for a set of Turbo A/T injectors...

Anybody has any other info to trow in???

Ghislain.

Most turbo guys I asked, said that installing a water-injection kit for a NT would be an exercise in futility.

But wouldn't it still lower the air temp, thus increasing power?

I know DSS sells a kit for $150US..but how much could it lower the temp?

Anyone know what the ratio between
lowering the air temp X degrees, and the increase in HP is??
