Hey guys

I have a chance to buy a stock 1995 Eagle Talon Tsi AWD car that has has been banged up.

I was wondering if I buy this car, how hard would it be to change everything over to a 1996 Talon Esi?

Maybe just do it as a FWD b/c my car has been lowered and I'd have to change it all around to fit the rear end in.

But how hard would it be to put the engine, a fwd tranny and plumb/wire it for the turbo into a Esi?
I'm guessing that all the hardware is interchangable???

Thanks guys.

Just swap the engine and replace all the parts from the turbo to the NT that you possibly can

so it's pretty easy then, right?
I can get the car for $3500

The only thing is, the 420A engine is brand new and so is the tranny, I didn't have to pay for them, but I don't know how much of a chance I have to sell them.

No, I'd need to get the Tsi repainted.
But the Tsi has front end damage, and from what I have heard, the frame is cracked.

Here's pics of my car (N/T):

make sure the engine is not cracked or any way damaged when the collision was hard enough the frame of the car.(these cars are unibody!)

many cases those impacts brake the pins and other guides that hold the engine and transmission together. As well as engine mount bolts.

But it really shouldn't be hard to do the surgery when you have a turbo front end right in forn of you.

Good LucK

It's definitely not an easy swap in the 2Gs.

The engine in a 2G NT is not simply a non-turbo version of the Turbo cars in the 2Gs. The motor mounts will be in a different place, many of the hard fluid lines will be in differenct places, coolant overflow, battery, etc. You'll need to find a 2G FWD tranny (which, since they weren't sold in Canada, won't be as easy). Then you'll have to redo all the tranny linkages, not to mention all the wiring, ECU, etc.

You'd be much better off putting the money towards a turbo kit or some nitrous. smile

Brian, is the center air outlet the same size as the 1G? The oval dual air outlet above the heating knobs. I just cracked mine and I was wondering if the outlets are the same, I could buy the piece off of ya.
