Hi, i have a 91 Laser RS stock. It's non turbo, and I wondered if there is anything I can do to make it faster, the catch id I'm on a teny tiny budget!! Any fast ideas?? Please....

remove air intake silencer.

cut open/remove the resinator under the intake.

advance timing a very little bit.

install home made RAM AIR/COLD AIR intake.

all 4 of these mods can be done for under $15......i have explained exactly how to install the ram air intake many times before so search the threads and you will find it.

save your money for a K&N filter (part number E-2875), they can be bought from $50-80 and will give greatest HP/top end power for the money.

Been a whine since I updated the site. Pretty much along the line as Shawn said. I put the Base Timing at 10 but need to use 94 Octane so I don't get knock.

Average top speed? Depends on how long a peice of pavement youve got... LOL .. My old 90 n/t would hit 230 + km/h if I had enough straight real estate to get it up there...

I would doubt you ever reach 230 on flat road with no wind.

Hey, I've been to 180km/h without much problems and I wouldn't see a problem getting to 230km/h if I had enough pavement. My buddies Tiburon with similiar HP/Torque and no mods can get 200km/h before the rev limiter kicks in and he stills has some left.

I got to 230 km/h more than once.. My buddies used to think it was the coolest thing... Took a long time to get it there, and you needed flat straight road....

There is no governer on those cars in terms of vehicle speed.

that was a question, and that comes probabely from my Galant experience and how I try to match the two world. Eventhough similar not always the same. Galnt has a 190kmh Speed governer.

I've hit 200+ on my Galant..and both our cars came off the same boat.

in my old 94 es I hit 210 with no problem. Could have gone faster but was catching up to traffic in a hurry so it was time to shut down

Yeah, last time I did it, I was 19 and some dumb ass backed out of his driveway.. Almost smoked him.. Young and foolish, what can I say.. It was completely irresponsible, and I shouldnt have done it, someone could have been killed very easily...

I read that fact about speed governer somewhere and that pretty much makes sense to me. Maybe the canadian versions didn't have it. the maximum i have driven with my Galant was 180. It might have gone a bitaster if there was a clear road. However it severly depends on teh wind directon and speed. Right now I don't think it can make it there even. My engine doesn't have almost any top end torque.At 150 I have more acceleration in 5th than in 4th. That I think is because of poor spark plugs and an ancient air filter.

I don't know if it matters but with four people in my car I hit 220km/h with it. But since my tranny is down for the count I can't go test it with less weight.
