as anything else it is not theoratically impossible but that is a DIFFERENT engine.

it sits in completely differently. the tranny and engine sides are on the opposite sides. Your engine is mitsu 420A is chrysler.

makes it NOT WORTH IT AT ALL.

You might have better luck stuffin' in a 4G63...I think the short block is almost identical...

It's not a Talon, it's a Talonol...
And now it's in the garage with a connecting rod sticking out...

I think the tranny might bolt up, however its purpose was to transfer 90 +- hp, not 200...ecu is an obvious upgrade and as well the harness might need to be spliced or replaced...

There is a Thread in the DSMTALK.com about that. Couple of people have done it in the past.

I think the engine code could be 4G37(or is it 4G63??) anyway most likely the tranny bolts up. Both there is no way on earth it can withstand a turbo engine's torque. Your wiring a VERY different too. So it is not only the ECU biut some wiring.

Just go to DSMTalk.com and you'll get your answer.

4G37 -> 4G63 would be much easier I'm sure. More worthwhile too!

4g37 to 420a .... Why

It's a POS neon engine and just like all other Chrysler 4 cylinder engines, they blow head gaskets all the time.

The tranny in the 1.8L NT is the same as the tranny in the 2.0L NT (At least for the auto's). I had both - so I checked the numbers on the firewall awhile ago...

Do any of the engine shops in Toronto import the 4G37T engines that were in the early 90's lancers? That would fit perfectly.

Thanks for the input, I picked up the car for $200 and just wanted to see what can be done. I forgot that the 420a was not a mitsu motor, and yes a 4G63 would bolt right in. I have a 94 TSi AWD that I solo but will be taking a year off to learn how smooth up my lines while I rebuild my 94. This laser has not one option but A/C so I figure it should have some turn in once I put the 225/50-16 R compund tires on smile

Thanks Matt
