I was wondering about the amount of horsepower a TSi engine would output without a turbo. I know the non-turbo and turbo engines are different, so wouldn't it be over the 140hp(i think) that the non-turbos run?

its pretty low

i remember when i first got my laser the turbo was blown and it was SLOW
the turbo engines coem with low compression pistons etc. so they aren't meant to be run NA

i am guessing somewhere around 110 becasue of the intake and exhaust restriction if u leave a seized turbo on it

just a guess though

I don't think anyone actually bothered to take the turbo off, put on an ex. manifold of an nt, change the maf, and intake, and ecu just to see what their engine will produce without the turbo...

It's not a Talon, it's a Talonol...
And now it's in the garage with a connecting rod sticking out...

Hehe that's true.

But one fellow in Ottawa was Turboing his galant and he had the Turbo engine in there but no turbo and the NT ex. manifold. But I seriously doubt if he ever Dynod that thing.

It's still pretty easily drivable. You loose some low end torque but when I had a dead turbo on my car I couldn't really tell unless I really wanted some power. I stay out of boost 99% of the time anyway.

When my wastegate actuator fell off and it kept falling off for about a week bcause the was no pin there. The car was hardly driveable and just made noise after 3500 it was terrible. The low compression is not streetable without a turbo.

it is not the compression

it is the damn restricted intake and half blocked exhaust that makes the "turbo " engine not drivable
