I did 16.290 with my 1G NT.

Getting in the 15 needs lots of work.

Wish you luck.

Ghislain.

I also did a low 16. I believe 16.1x. I don't remember what the 'x' was. Ported IM, EM, SP regrind cams, no balance shafts, cold air intake with the filter in the fender, SAFC, bumped timing, etc. All I can say is: What a waste of time. Check out my sig.

My NT 2.0 Galant ran a 16.1.

Balance shaft removed, 7 degrees timing advance, tuned with a SAFC for 94 octane, Pacesetter header, Flowmaster 40series muffler. Street tires@ 20psi

with the same setup, I would say its possible to get a more aerodynamic and a 200lbs lighter Talon into the 15s.

300hp Talon to a 50hp Citroen. Lovely ain't it?

These Tranny don't like to be shifted at high RPM. I would not worry about it, it's just a noise. eek

One thing that you could do would be to change the Tranny Fluid. Stay away from Gear Oil. Get some 75w85 Syntetic GL4 or 5 if I remember right.

Advance the Base Timing to 10 Deg BTDC and remove as much stuff (Spare Tire, jack...) as you can. Weight is your enemy.

Keep having fun with it and start saving your money for a Turbo.

That is what I did and have no regret...

Ghislain.

Dont use GL5 in your tranny, because of dsms having brass syncros, They will wear out very fast. Redline mtl/mt-90 or bg syncromesh works good with our trannys.

Thanks Ghislain!

ColtMax said me something like that about my timing.

For the fuel, we only have access to 91 here.

May I drive daily with a more advanced timing (and higher octane fuel) ?

You should be fine with 10 deg and 91 Oct. Anything more and you'll hear it (knock).

Ghislain.
