Check the manual. It will tell you its towing capacity. I had a 2001 Ford Sport Trac and it OWNED.

I'm sure if I can pull a John deere 640 skidder or and buldozer on a tandem axle flat bed behind my S-10 w/2.8 V6/ 5 sp for 10 years a 3/4 ton truck could haul a little car.

It'll tow alright, but if you're towing a lot, I would imagine you'd regret the 6cylinder.

get an 8 cyl truck. If you're worried about the cost of gas and consumption, a v6 will burn just as much if not more towing - it has to work a lot harder than the 8. This summer we towed a couple of boats around quite a bit, one car was a pathfinder with the v6 and the other was an chevy with a v8.. The chevy burned less gas when towing on the highway and had an easier time with hills.
