Just received a gauge kit and was wondering if anyone has ran into any trouble installing em on a 1g. Any tips or advice would be great.

Tip 1: BE VERY CAREFUL. All of the gauges can possibly break, and the needles can bend out of shape if you apply too much force.

Tip 2: Oil pressure gauge can be a bitch. Watch out when removing this gauge because it's spring loaded and can unwind. bitch

Tip 3: Boost gauge needle is VERY sensitive. DO NOT force. Place two flat headed screw drivers opposite of one another and pry upwards to remove. GENTLY. laugh

Tip 4: CLEAN YOUR HANDS before touching ANY of your new gauges. I personally wore latex gloves to install mine. I recommend the same for you for "pristine" appearance afterwards.

See Black Cat Custom 's installation tips for further details, or anything I may have missed. They have a nifty section right at the top especially for 1G cars.

Good luck. Post photos when you're done. I'll try and get mine up later tonight.

Use a fork to take the needles off. Makes it much easier.

Well, got them on yesterday and they look AWESOME!! I will try to get some pics up but it won't be til near the end of the month as I won't have a digital camera til then. Gonna have to go back in I think though because guess which gauge isn't working....the oil pressure gauge. frown
