Alright, so I had this idea for a hood...I don't have photoshop here, so I can't even mock one up...

But how about this. A carbon fibre hood, with the mitsu diamonds cut out of it...

I think this would look incredible. Now though, where would one get this done, and who could design it, and what are the possible downsides of leaving the open space?

I do a lot of commuting up and down the 401, and during the summer I get a tremendous amout of dirt and sand built up in my engine bay that's a bitch to clean up. I can't imagine what it would be like to have holes in my hood for even larger rocks to get in....

Great idea...
2 ideas for you:
1- How bout the cutting of the diamonds like you said but how bout a clear glass (for show) or clear fiberglass (for street)To fill in the holes

Or
2- You could instead of cutting out how mout getting the mitsu symbol made out of CF and put on the hood. so bubble to the left and in the middle nice and big the diamods.

i have a shop who does both, or could do both!

you could even cover the hole with the same stuff as on the evolution hood, that would stop a lot of the stuff from getting in there.

You could also have the mitsu logo raised/beveled rather than cut out. This way debris and dirt wont enter it but you still have your mitsu logo on the top. Just a thought.

nah...

DO a big hood vent. Mesh it. (Stencil) Paint the diamonds on. You can add in a cover (held by small screws) under the car when you dont want it left open.

whatever the case, the asymmetric hood hump will end up making the hood look off. If I were to do one, I'll lower the hump slightly and raise the entire centre section of the hump for the hood vent.

Jeremy very nice idea! Is there anyway you could draw something like that out to give us a better idea?
