I'm planning on changing the front speakers to infinity's. I saw that mine were changed before to some crap and i was wondering what the exact size of the speakers are? (on top of dash)

The ones that are in there now appear to be 3.5" round but they have a kind of plate to be able to reach the holes on the sides cuz they are to small to reach.

But i measured the hole in the plastic and it doesn't look big enough for 4" speakers.

If someone could measure their stockers or let me know what the correct size is i would apreciate it.

Thnx!

And someone with as many posts as you should know that the moderators are here to fix problems like posts in the wrong section. It would have taken less time report to this to a moderator than to type your reply. smile

The dash speaker are 3.5", but you will have to make an adapter plate because stock speakers have an odd mounting patern (larger then standard 3.5"). 4" might fit but will be a lot more work.

For the doors, 6" is the best fit with little modification, but 5.5" will fit also with an adapter plate.

I just took out my set 5.5" Infinity speakers with adpaters out of my 1G laser (getting rid of the car) and I might be interested in getting rid of them. PM and we can talk.

Installed Blaukpunkts in my dash that were 4", they barely fit, and the covers for them do not sit flush with the dash.

In my doors I also have Infinity's, that are 5 1/4" that fit perfectly, no extra drilling.

In the back, 6x9 Blaukpunkts are installed, that were a pain to install properly. The Magnet on the back of the speakers are soo huge that I had to cut out the plastic cover in the rear so the speakers could stick out, and then drill the grills directly to the cover.

Good luck with your install, I've always been a fan of Infinity, good choice.

Peter

I sell Infinity Audio and I use Infinity audio and you can't beat them for the price. I have the 6 1/2's in the front door and the Kappa 6x9's in the rear. You should throw a set of reference 6x9's in the rear and a set of reference 6 1/2 components in the front and a descent 4 channel amp and you'll be laughing. As far as the dash speakers go dont even worry about them. the components will take car of that(x10). The reference 6x9's should fit in the rear with no modifications or slight modifications. I am doing a custom buildout for my full system in the spring when the car comes back out. That way it will be a clean install and I will still have room for my beer. Plus I am designing it so that it can all be easily removed for the track. Its the way to go. Anyways man you should have really clean sound if you go that route. Have fun
