I bought some green glass bulbs from ct and changed the instrument bulbs. I found that it's too dim so took them out. Any other way to change the cluster colour? Anyone use green colour rubbers ? or where to get bright green bulbs that dont use high wattage?

Did you sand down the orange paint on the back of the cluster when you changed the bulbs?

If you didn't that would probably do the trick.

With my gauge kits the back sides are sanded off and then painted with transparent paint using an airbrush.
This is the best way to get the brightest guages as white bulbs are brighter then colored bulbs.

You can use green bulbs and sand the backs of the gauges so they are white to make them brighter, if you don't they will be very dim.

Well the illumination fo the numbers are very dim as well so i don't think sanding down the needles would help me in my situation. Has anyone used those coloured condoms with any luck?I like my cluster to be very bright, not indiaglo bright but well lit up.

Sand off the orange paint on the back of the numbers too. Then everything will be green...

what iv done on mine, was sand off all the orange stuff of the back where u want to change the color, perhaps leave the redline red? do whatever you like, go to walmart or someplace like that, buy the transparent sulifane, u know that stuff you use for gift baskets and stuff, and glue that to the back of the gauge, and you can then still use the stock clear bulbs. and the sulifane costs like 2$ and works very well, just take your time, glue it down well, and be careful you dont get glue on the front face side. heres a link on dsm talk http://www.dsmtalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=89985

id skip painting the needles at first at least. the main thing is, sand off that orange stuff at the back. i had to use 2 layers of cellofane, i sanded off the back, took a piece of cellofane and a flashlight, went in the bathroom, lights off, closed door, and held it behind the gauge and shined the flashlight threw. it wasnt blue enough for me, i tried 2 layers, it was perfect, should work for any color. let me know how it turns out.

Just sand the backs of the guages to remove the white/black and orange dyes/paint. The paint the back sides of the gauges.
If you want to keep the redline red tape it off so that it will remain white.

Don't sand or paint the needles.
You need a reflective paint for the needles...

If you really want a bright green you will either need to paint the gauges using a transparent green paint or use LED's. Scrap the green peanut bulb idea.
The other guys idea of the film may works as well
