This is a late response, but anyone else coming from the west end (Miss, brampton, etc) wanna meet up for a caravan?

My first time going, Cool to see a bunch of other dsms out there..

Once again, a mediocre turnout, and once again, many hours of fighting traffic to get home...

I know in the winter we always said "lots of people will show up when the weather is better". Well, now the weather is better, and there are STILL not that many showing up. I think part of the problem is that the meet often falls on a long weekend....


Now, I KNOW that a long time ago some cave man got out a hammer and chisel and carved into a stone that Yorkdale meets shall be the first Sunday of the month.....but I think time has come where perhaps we should look at changing this. First Sunday of the month OFTEN falls on a long weekend, leading to people having more important plans and being away.

What would you guys think of having the Yorkdale meets on the LAST Sunday of the month instead. This way, the only time it would fall on a long weekend would be if the sunday happened to be the actual last day of the month, then the Monday could be the first and a holiday. In those cases, I would say we delay the meeting a week and have it the first sunday of the following moonth instead.

If people are agreeable to this, the next meet could be August 26th, instead of the currently planned Sept. 2 (another long weekend). The meet after that I will miss regardless, as I will be away in Germany.

What do you guys think? Do you think that would help improve the turnout? I know I am NOT going to another YD meet that falls on a long weekend. I get there in 1.5 hours, but takes me anywhere from 3 to 6 hours to get home...

I was really planning on going to this one. I thought I could replace my 4 speakers in time, boy was I wrong !

I totally agree with you Ziggy, people make plans for the long weekends which i'm sure override the Sunday meets. Might be a good idea to make them the weekend before or after.

I WILL make the next meet, no matter what.

I'll go along with Ziggy's suggestion of holding the meets on the last Sunday of every month.

I am so mad, I got home after the meet, spent 30min switching a fan and my car is fixed, so i wouldn't have have to drive the explorer.. O well, there is always September...

so, there has been no further comment on this for a while now. Is there a Yorkdale meet this weekend, the 26th? Or next weekend, the 2nd?

i will be there with 2 dsms if anyone else will show. and ziggy if you are coming could you bring me an egr blockoff plate? I won't be a no show even if I have to bring my 4g sonata!

Whether I show or not will depend on who all is coming....I don't really want to drive all day and use most of a tank of gas to deliver an egr blockoff plate, though......so let's hear it....who is going to be there??
