I would like to take this opertunity to invite "ALL" DSM owners to the below event.
We usally do this in October, (end of season bash) but last year the weather got kind of cold for mid Oct. So were going to try it on September 8th.
It would be nice to see some of the cars and thier owners from this board come down for some fun.
--------------------------------------------------------------

ForcePower Motorsports & Team S.O.DSM (will be hosting).

FORCEPOWER / DSM Day. @ St. THOMAS DRAGWAY

DATE: Saturday September 8th 2007
All DSM owners are welcome, Turbo, Non-turbo, modified or stock.

Gates open 10:00 am. Practice 11:00 till Noon,
All cars to be checked for class and track tech by 12:30 pm.
1st round of qualifying will begin by 1:00 pm.

CLASSES:

SUPER STREET. (Cars under 13.99 sec’s).
Full exhaust to rear of car, full interior (rear seat can be removed), no restriction on turbo size, No hacked body parts, bumper cuts or removed headlights, No Nitrous.
Tires. FWD = Any type, no restrictions.
AWD = Any DOT tires.

STREET STOCK. (Cars under 15.99 sec’s).
TD05H compressor cover is mandatory, all manifolds must be stock 1G or 2G, full exhaust to rear of car, no external wastgates, no hacked body parts, bumper cuts or removed headlights, No Nitrous.
Tires. FWD = Any DOT
AWD = DOT tread wear 140+

NON TURBO. (Cars under 18.99 sec’s).
Full interior and any DOT tires.

* We will be taking the quick 16 qualifiers in each class, for a “heads-up” shootout.

* Prizes will be awarded for each class.

• This is an event we would like to expand each year and is set-up primarily for the fun and enjoyment of our cars. With all the negative press that is directed towards modified cars these days, it is the perfect opportunity to legally race our cars and have some fun, without constantly looking in our review mirrors. So get your car ready and come on out, DSM’s are alive and well in Canada.

* For additional information or any questions please call 519 485 4358 or email detail@bellnet.ca

Some front mount intercoolers require trimming or cutting of the bumper steel but the car still appears stock from the outside. Will this be permitted?

Does full interior count if you've removed back seat and all trunk plastic?

Price for the event?

Also, the DSM Garage sale is that weekend.

Some trimming of the front bumper is fine to fit a FMIC. Also, DSM back seats are usless anyway and the trunk plastics don't help much for weight reduction so both of them removed will be fine as well. I've had a request for removing 1 headlight already for the Super Street class which is also fine. If anyone shows up in a DSM, we will find a class for them. The rules for the classes is a guideline so people don't think they can get into Street Stock with a GT42R. The north of the border enthusiasm and attendance is what's going to make this event a success for years to come.

Yag! I have a camping weekend with some friends that weekend, and I really wanted to go!

Maybe if something turned up... hmmm...

That super street class makes it a little biased for the big turbo guys. Most guys with a 16G are running at least mid 13's, then you get guys like Kevin, PPG and Helder running GT40's FP 3575's etc.

Will there be any competition for us who have stock appearing turbos running low 13's/high 12's?

Street Stock? I run less than 14 seconds Tim.

E316G @ 24PSI, Meth, 780cc, Wally 190, -6 AN Tank-Rail, DSMLink, 2600 and AWD.

At least I would HOPE I would run less than 13.99 seconds.

Reza has the same mods and he's into the 11s.

Ryan, if I read your post right, are you saying that if you show up with a stock appearing turbo, run lower than a 13.99, that you will be put into Super Street? That isn't the case. The 13.99 is just to open the Super Street class up a bit for those guys that have medium to large frame turbos and just don't quite have them dialed in yet. Get everyone qualified and then anything can happen in heads-up. Trust me, there will be alot of guys on TDO5 compressors run well into the 12's.

Eric, if Pro Tree is the popular vote then I'll ask the track to run us on it. I'd rather run Pro because I think it gets rid of alot of red lights. Nobody likes to see the red go off.

Ahhh, ok. I was under the impression that if you ran less than 13.99 you were classified as Super Street.

So, if I make it, I could go into Street Stock and still run less than 13.99?

Yes, that is correct, But you must follow the class rules. As Pat said, there will be many 16g cars running in the 12s.

I'm going to try and make it too. The only thing stopping me is my car. Hopefully it'll be running in a week and tuned/drivable for the 8th. I need all the help i can get.

I need to start getting track experience. The car has taken me 3.5years to assemble....lol

So for each class are awd's against fwds? or will they each have their own class, inside the class?

In the Super Street class, fwd`s are not restricted to a DOT tire. In other words, slicks are allowed, to make it fair game.

Hey Daren, hope you can make it out for this one. Like Eric said, we're giving FWD guys more room on tire selection. AWD and FWD are all mixed together in every class.

I'm fairly positive you can still race T&T in between the event. IT's not as if once you are eliminated, that's it for you.

Out???????? Daren, ask Eric, Jason Harris, or myself what it feels like to get beat by FWD Hondas in the Power Adder at CSCS. haha. You could definately run the T&T if you get eliminated. Sept. 8th is not just all about the racing. It's about getting as many DSMs out as possible and show everyone that we can put together a North of the Border Shootout type event as well.

Ya Tim $30 gets you in the gates if you're racing in any class. If someone gets eliminated from a class and wants to go in T&T, they don't have to pay again.

Also, they have a test and tune from 6pm till 10pm the same night, following the event. Im not sure if you`ll have to pay extra for that one or not.

No extra.
Stay right through till 10:30 if you like. I'm sure more than a few of us will be there later. The Saturday night street wars will be going on, that can be fun.

Were giving out trophies for winner and runner-up in each class and we all know anything can happen in heads-up racing.

We've got a bunch of PMs and emails about tech. Teching at Sparta is easy. Make sure your DSMs are ready, everythings strapped or bolted down. We want DSMs racing and so does Sparta. We will be talking to tech down there and telling them to take it easy on everybody. Everyone will race.
The one rule that I know every track is enforcing this year is regarding helmets. For those of you that don't know, you need a helmet for anything under 13.99.

Your going to loose more than that once I'v finished tuning your AEM-EMS. Just make sure you use the bathroom before you launch that sucker.
