I just bought one of those gauge pods that go into the vent, It has two slots but I'm wondering If my gauges will fry from all the heat when I turn on the hot air, should I wrap the behind with some sort of insulation. Anyone running this piece?

just flip the inner vent part to block off all air passage. it's useless now anyways.

and use the defrost or defrost/lower leg setting from now on when you need heat to avoid the problem in the first place

Also read on dsmtuners about guys insulating the back part of there gauges, to be safe I'll try insulating it and running air from the bottom setting from know on.

if you take out the entire vent module, you'll see a flap the opens or closes. as long as that flap stays closed (zip tie, maybe even glue or double sided tape), you will be ok even if you accidentally put it on the top portion

the defrost setting is safe to use as well, as it vents out right near the windshield and not through the middle vents there

i had to do this when i installed my gps system in said spot.

I never looked inside there but I'll check it out and zip tie if possible once my piece arrives. Estimated time for shipping is about 2 weeks so I have time to check it out, Thanks Grant.
