Hey guys. I have a good line on a manual conversion swap for my 1G Turbo FWD Auto. Tranny is a JDM from a 93 N/T. Looked on AAAQ and this is what I got: It must also be noted that the manual transmissions from turbo FWD and non-turbo FWD cars are different. Non-turbo FWD 1Gs have a F5M22 transmission (manual) or F4A22 transmission (automatic). Non-turbo 2Gs have a F5MC1 transmission (manual) or F4AC1 transmission (automatic). Turbo FWD 1Gs and 2Gs have a F5M33 transmission (manual) or F4A33 transmission (automatic). These transmissions are not interchangeable, and they are geared differently.
Now I don't think this applies to me, as I'm not going from manual to manual, but from auto to manual. So would this work?

No, It's a front driver winter beater, and I will only be running about 15 psi out of the 14b. It's more of a show than go.

Well, 2 year old black cherry paint (Same as Shep) and no rust.. interior is immaculate. My $500 beater. Compression on the motor (4-1) 165-160-155-165 280K. My AWD is my go car.

I've got an n/t tranny in my FWD converted to turbo, I don't have any real mods but its been fine with the mbc I had turned up to 15 psi. I drove it for 2 years without problems, it was a mint jdm. I also had it apart about halfway through and it looked great.

Helder, Ryan is talking about the FWD n/t transmission, not the motor. Back on topic. The N/T transmissions are weaker. I've seen is first hand and don't care to ever use one or advise anyone to use one. Not only do you need to use a n/t flywheel, but you will also need a n/t style clutch. Not to mention that 3rd gear is made of hay and straw. Case #1 (My car): As you can see, one hard 3rd gear pull at 20psi on a 16G did more harm then good. Case #2 (Kyle Mavis): http://videos.streetfire.net/Player.aspx?fileid=33C85506-4DAE-4D62-B0BA-21A62AF3E19BOne week after my failure, the other n/t tranny user did the exact same thing. This new time was done on a 14b at 20psi. N/T trannies are pooh.
