Guy at work always goes away on vacation March 1st.
He figures you can live through the snow til Christmas, and then Christmas is pretty. By mid Jan, everyone's lights are down, and February, you get hammered with .... well, what we're getting now.

So, as things just start to thaw Mar 1, but you're still in for another month or two of crappy weather, he heads south and gets a week or two of sun. Sets him up for dealing with spring showers. smile

But look on the bright side.
You're not foolish enough to try month long kitchen renos right now, moving yourself into your upper floor and living out of a spare bedroom as a make-shift kitchen.
Heh.
What kind of fool would do THAT?

The moment a turbo spools, all your dreams are made possible.

I hear you Ryan. Im dying to put the talon on the road. But I don't want to throw it on the road when there is still snow and salt out. Espicially when I still have a neon to drive....I should really get the neon fixed this weekend.

Last winter was so much better. Probably going to put the talon on the road mid march now.

Damn, that's awful.

But hey, it's a cold grey day here in Dallas today.
The wind is blowing, the rain is intermittant, and it's hovering at 5c.

This weekend it'll be even worse: Sunny, clear and in the mid to low 20's.

Terrible.

I want an RS4.

It's snowing here in Ottawa, too. Don't you just love how people forget how to drive in this weather? You'd think that most people who have been through at least one winter here would recall how to act/react in snowy conditions. Nooo, either they drive slower than my legally blind grandmother or think they're invincible until they roll their SUVs.
freak

Sure, winter is cold but you can dress up for it. Most people just can't tolerate how depressing it is.

Well it looks like it snowed earlier here. I drove one winter with summers. I didn't have any more issues with traction as snow tires. Mind you thats the only winter I did it. I'd like to stick with less powered cars for the winter now just so the loud pedal is some what useful.

I can't wait for the temperature to rise noticeably so that I can work on the Talon without freezing to death or catching pneumonia. It hibernates during the winter.

I hear that! me and the old man just finished redoing the garage with huge amounts of storage and heating it. To bad as soon as we finished it I moved out here and left the cars at home, sitting outside shuffle...

So I have a heated garage for when I get back in spring for +30 weather.... pimp

Well, pulled the covers of her today, fired it up! Took a bit of cranking to get the fuel prime as I have a leaky sending unit (replacing) but she weathered the winter VERY well. No musty smell in the cabin, no frame rust or moisture on it due to the tarp I put under it, everything looks great.

Since it's going to be so BEAUTIFUL tomorrow in Sudbury, I'm going to start the tear down and wire tuck.

FINALLY SPRING'S HERE!!!

I'm just throwing the coveralls on right now, gonna go fix a couple wiring issues and see if I can get this starter problem sorted out.

It'd be nice to actually DRIVE the car but we can only ask for so much!

LOL, isn't that the truth.

Started tearing into mine today. I did a wire tuck for the wires that run across the IM, they are now hidden in the middle of it, and I've turned my injectors so the wires don't show.

Got rid of that damned red wire loom too!

Pulled the front off and removed the FMIC (Jay, it's ready for you) as well as removed the Fuel Sending unit to get the Walbro 190 I'm selling out.

Now my engine bay looks like it puked, all the wires all over the place.

Next task next weekend: Relocate the fuse box to where the SMIC used to be. demon

It's good to be back.

That's a pretty dusty, wet, dirty spot for the fuse box, isn't it? Or is this car a Sunday driver? Definitely gets it out of the way.

I redid all my grounds today on the new rig. Previous owner had the battery relocated to the trunk and there were a few pretty sketchy grounds but they're good now.

Figured out my coolant leak is coming from where the main water line connects to the water pump. No big deal since I have to take the manifold and turbo off anyway and I was already planning on flushing all the fluids.

The starter problem, on the other hand, isn't looking so good. Had a look at the teeth on the flywheel and they're chewed up pretty good from repeated use of a starter that wasn't engaging properly. So, hopefully I can just replace the starter and it will be ok 'cause I really don't want to have to change the flywheel on my new car.

See, I'm going to put the fusebox wires side up, and put the shrouds there, so it should keep it decently dry. Probably fill the wiring area with some sort of non-conductive goop.

Good to know you got a few things fixed today. Hopefully the starter just has to be replaced and you don't have to do the flywheel.
