Snow today.. shitty climate..

yeah, we had hail today =[ talon is still getting safetied though. Which is even worst I think.

Yeah, I was supposed to have the car ready for Monday, don't think it's going to happen. It's supposed to rain here Fri-Sun. I'll have it ready for the cruise.

It's insured and I don't have much left to do.

man the last 4 days its been saying rain for belleville on the 10th....... =[

Yeah, I know, but it will change. Besides, as long as it's not raining for the races.

Anyway, it's starting to look more and more like a car. Still needs to be cleaned, but I'll get'r done.

I've considered it, but I like my cruise too much. Getting rid of Power Steering was a big step for me.

I've got the stock heatsheild I'm going to paint black.

I've Never had the pleasure of driving a talon with power steering.

I prefer not having it, my car definatly isn't into the road course anyways. And I definatly have hand over hand mastered for my G liscence test.

I had no PS for a bit, I think it all depends on where you drive your car the most frequantly, Parking sucks, thats for sure.

Using the power rack without the pump running is bad for the rack, and your steering wheel will wear out faster too.

No, But I also was drumming for 4 years so I have so pretty tough forearms. To me it feels safer with the power steering running.

Plus what Rob says. I would rather fix a leaky line now then a power steering rack in a bit. Don't want to do the manual steering rack thing. Not on a DD. Maybe track car.

I dropped mine on all fours last night and turned the wheel, it's not bad actually.

She's almost ready to go. I have to finish the interior wiring yet.

Parking's a little stiff but but it's no big deal, it'll put a little muscle on those arms.

Well, it's alive! Took her for a rip around the block, needs to be tuned/timed and some small bugs worked out. Little dripping from the oil return, nothing some RTV can't fix.

Just have to finish up a few loose ends and she's good to go!

The good old oil return drip! Ah, good times. I replaced that line with braided stainless and it works mint now. Glad to hear it's coming along, Ryan!

I did replace mine with a stainless line, it's just the fitting that bolts to the oil pan, I reused an old gasket, so I'll just clean it up and RTV the crap out of it. Worked the last time.

It's funny, because that's the worst oil leak to fix. Crappy design. RTV can't fix it alone, you need to be an expert in the field.

Mine drips once every 274 hours, while the car sits in the drive.

So Rob, what would you suggest?

Get a steel adapter, remove the oil pan, clean it up and weld it in place.
Or at least do a proper (patient) RTV job on it, with the oil pan off and thoroughly cleaned.

Alternatively, switching to studs could help a lot.

Fixing it on the car is sort of a pipe dream. Bad pun. No cookie.

Or forget the RTV. A clean gasket with two smooth surfaces and it won't leak. Don't forget the little crush washers under the bolts, as oil comes right up the threads to the bolts head. Crush washers are the only thing that'll prevent it from leaking, unless you stripped one of the nuts inside the oil pan.

Well, I figured I'd bring this back for two double oh nine. I'm not AS sick of winter this year since my summer car has been my winter car and keeping it sideways has been A LOT of fun. Just got 10cm of snow last night, I'm heading to Yorkdale in the AWD. Should be fun.

I too hate winter. Had a little bit of excitement a week ago when all the snow was gone... so much for that idea.


Guess I better get used to it though, Cold Lake winters suck even more.

Me and the whole company are crossing our fingers for an early spring to get a jump start on the season. I've come to despise winter over the last couple years.

You know guys, I was at the Yorkdale meet today and Paul P. and I got talking, matter of fact, everyone there got talking, about my old 1G.

I do miss it. Hindsight is 20/20 and I've learned from my mistakes. $1000 and that car was back on the road, but at the time I hated it so much as I never got any pleasure out of it considering the time and money that went into it.

The 2G will not suffer the same fate. On the way home today, I stopped in Oro-Medonte at this guy's place (Soon to be a member) who has 4 Talons and a whole shed of parts, he's been into them for years just never registered on the board. He's got a 95 AWD Automatic as a daily, but soon will be taking it apart and using components to go into his 96 5 speed he's got. We've already talked about me getting the shell after he's done taking what he needs. I plan on keeping my 2G around for many years.

Oh, and as for the clean engine bay, don't worry about that. I've already got plans of all the stuff I want to get rid of/relocate in my engine bay to make it look shiny good.
