So there seems to be an interest, and I've been talking to Ziggy, he's going to help out with this to make it easier on all of this.

Timeline:

50-75% Depost in NO LATER than APRIL 4, 2008. PAYMENT BY APRIL 18TH, 2008.
After that, Ziggy will place the final order and you will talk to him about logistics.

This will give us all about 2 months to place your orders. ANYTHING YOU WANT GUYS!!!

Place your orders here of what you want.

This is a no bullshit group buy. Shipping and logistics will be handled through Ziggy.

If you're dead serious about this, then give Ziggy a deposit. Otherwise, if you don't think you'll have the money, or "Um.. well maybe... hmm... I'll put my name down but I'm not sure." Don't put your name down.

That being said, let the bidding begin!!!

Also, A MINIMUM $4 donation to the board is REQUIRED on this group buy. Nothing comes for free, and the donation list on the hall of fame is still small guys.

Everything. Shipping, border fees, customs, price, you name it. Ziggy will get all the details, but there has to be enough interest.

Anything you go through Ziggy for, especially on a group buy, you end up saving money on. How much depends on the amount of interest here.

Put it to you this way, you aren't going to save much on a rad if 2 other people buy J-pipes, however you will if you have 4 people buying rads, 6 on manifolds, 10 J-pipes, 8 1G FMIC kits, and some 2G Upper/Lower IC piping. Oh, and 1 wants a Tial wastegate.

I can't make any promises just yet, but I have had preliminary talks with Extreme PSI. He sells their O2 housings, so he must have an account with them..or with someone who DOES have an account with them...so he SHOULD be able to get me their stuff. I am not sure why he doesn't stock their other stuff? He didn't say. Anyways, he won't want to do this on a regulary basis, or for just a couple of items, but I am PRETTY sure if I bring him a big enough order, he will arrange to get the stuff from PR. I want to go through him, because I will get some sort of discount from retail pricing, and that will be my profit. Basically, I am hoping I can offer the same pricing as PR does, plus exchange, of course, plus shipping and taxes. Shipping to me, I will divide the cost among the items ordered. Obviously, it will be cheaper to ship one large order rather than several small ones. Also, we can arrange pickup from me or delivery to a Yorkdale meet to save further shipping costs. So basically, I will be saving you SOME of the shipping costs, and the dreaded brokerage fees. Thanks Ryan for organizing this. Group buys are always a bit of work..I will let you guys decide when it is time to place the order, and I am NOT going to chase people who haven't made their deposit on time. No deposit, you won't be included in the order. Sorry, but I just don't have the time I used to right now...

I believe only the 2g downpipes are cat replacing, so I believe there would be a gap between the downpipe and the catback for the cat. It is not included as far as I know..

Don't know if this will pertain to Megan racing products. But, I find that with alot of pre built exhausts 3" and 2.5". They will come with a test pipe to replace the stock cat. Usually a high flow cat will be extra. So like Ziggy said it will probably be a gap or test pipe.

Hope Im not interupting.

I have spoken with Extreme, since he DOES have an account with PR. We haven't discussed specifics, but I just told him if I placed a decent order, would he get me their stuff that he doesn't normally carry (he only carries their O2 housings, not sure why he doesn't carry the other stuff). I asked if perhaps he could even have the entire order just shipped directly to me from PR to save shipping one way. He just said it shouldn't be a problem.

I wasn't 100% sure this would go through, so I didn't get too specific. It looks like there is lots of interest, so I will call him and discuss more specifically. I have no idea what sort of discount he can get me on this stuff, and, of course, he wants to make something also....but I am ASSUMING I will be able to match or beat PR's website pricing...and I am sure shipping on one or two large packages will be a lot less than many small ones....so that should be a savings also. Plus, of course, the dreaded brokerage fees won't be charged.

Once I have spoken with him again, I will know more on the pricing. I think FINAL price won't be determined until it arrives, as I won't know the full shipping cost until it is shipped. I will then divide that shipping cost fairly among the orders. I will basically figure it out as a percentage of the retail price, and then adjust a little...someone getting a full FMIC kit might pay a slightly higher percentage than someone getting just a small but expensive item. I will make it fair.

I appreciate the work Ryan has put into this! I think perhaps that should be somehow recognized. Maybe he should get free shipping to me?

Of course, shipping from me to you will also need to be worked out and charged, unless you are picking up. Also, there will be GST and PST, of course, plus I think we should once again ask for a small contribution for the board from everyone taking advantage of this. What do you think of $2/$100. spent to a maximum of $10.?

As for a deposit, Ryan mentioned 50 - 75%, and that would be great. It will be a large order, and I need to pay for it up front. If you are having problems with that, and want to negotiate some "special" deal...perhaps be included in the buy for a smaller deposit, or perhaps have me order your stuff, but not complete the sale and receive your goods until a little later, whatever, contact me by email. Best way to pay is by email transfer. I CAN accept paypal or credit cards, but need to charge you an additional 3.5% for that, as that is what they charge me...

I ask also that all of you do your homework, as I don't know the answers to your questions. Please contact PR or ask on the boards if you need to know something.

I will try to get more info on pricing and logistics and post again

Thanks again,
Ziggy

I agree with you Ziggy. Ryan set it up. I would be fine with me if he doesn't pay shipping. I have yet to make my donation to the board to this year. So I would be cool with 10 - 20 dollars. If everyone else can agree on that.

Thanks again Ziggy and Ryan for setting this up tu

If the problems you are talking about are located in this link I will let people know they were some SLIGHT install issues. Some cutting is required for any FMIC install, and the BOV pipe was a little long and hit the hood. You can rotate the pipe a bit to get it to fit.

The main issues people were speaking of are clearance issues with aftermarket Rads, the J-pipe, and the BOV.

But for $450, a kit that will hold 30psi it isn't that bad of a deal. Any FMIC kit you will get you will have to do some modifications. Bolt on isn't necessarily bolt on if you get my drift. wink

Just to let other buyers know.

I agree with Ryan. All front mounts I have seen have to cut something.

I spoke again with Extreme. The reason he doesn't carry more PR stuff is pretty simple...they sell it so cheap, there is no room for wholesale pricing. There is no markup in their stuff!

Anyways, he does get a few percent, and I am really hoping he will give me a few percent as well. I am pretty sure I can match their web pricing, but I WON'T be able to do any better, that is for sure. I WILL save you the brokerage fees, though...and where they quote a price "shipped", that is always within the US, not to Canada. Hopefully I will be able to match that price "shipped", because it will go to my US address, and I bring it across.

He is going to talk to them when I place the order, but I am pretty sure that is how it will go.....and this will be a one time deal..I won't normally be selling PR products (except perhaps their O2 housings, because Extreme stocks them), because there is no margin in it.

Don't forget shipping/border fees.

Ziggy will probably get them at that price.

Don't forget, deadline to get your orders/depost in is APRIL 4th!!!

No Jay, if you stay with the group buy, you WILL save. Ziggy will get them at the price shown on their site ($30 off) and by the looks of it, he's going to pretty much match the price in CDN dollars on the PR website.

So... You will get your J-Pipe for $60CAD shipped, as opposed to 59US plus shipping to Canada plus brokerage.

Your deal will be about $100 if you don't go through the group buy.

Oh im going through the group buy no doubt there Ryan. I wouldn't go with anyone but Ziggy for new parts. I was misunderstanding that. I was just talking I was expecting 89 for a j-pipe with them being 59. I would be saving 30 on what I was expecting it to be, even if ziggy only got them for the price they were listed on the website.

Don't worry Ryan. lol =]

I thought it might be appropriate, considering this is a group buy, to ask whether or not the quirks during installation of the FMIC kit have been rectified, such as the upper pipes' BOV flange location causing the BOV to dent the hood and certain parts having to be moved or completely removed like some of the power steering components and/orthe alternator? I've looked through the posts on the site linked earlier in this thread but have not found conclusive confirmation that these details have been tackled...

Would it be possible to confirm directly from Punishment Racing whether or not there are still such install issues with their FMIC kit? I know it's a great kit for the price and there are usually some minor modifications required to certain bolt-on mods, but I'd like to know what exactly will be an issue for my particular install before diving in head first.

FYI I'm already aware that I'll have to cut some metal to make room for the larger diameter of the new pipes and that doesn't seem too hard or costly at all. It's the more intricate details that I'd like to confirm, as mentioned above, and on a side note, it would be great to know if the BOV flange location limits my future BOV selection as well due to clearance issues.

Thanks a bunch! rotate

I personally have not looked into this, and not sure asking PR is the way to go for answers on this. What salesman will tell you "ya, you are right, my product is not as good as the competition"? I would suggest perhaps asking around on a few forums. I am pretty certain if we ask PR they are just going to say "oh ya, all those issues have been addressed".

I thought asking PR might be the way to go because usually a company stands by its products, which helps promote their reputation and increases business. In any case, is anyone registered with the other forums that might be able to ask this question on behalf of our group buy participants interested in the FMIC kit?
