So there seems to be an interest, and I've been talking to Ziggy, he's going to help out with this to make it easier on all of this.

Timeline:

50-75% Depost in NO LATER than APRIL 4, 2008. PAYMENT BY APRIL 18TH, 2008.
After that, Ziggy will place the final order and you will talk to him about logistics.

This will give us all about 2 months to place your orders. ANYTHING YOU WANT GUYS!!!

Place your orders here of what you want.

This is a no bullshit group buy. Shipping and logistics will be handled through Ziggy.

If you're dead serious about this, then give Ziggy a deposit. Otherwise, if you don't think you'll have the money, or "Um.. well maybe... hmm... I'll put my name down but I'm not sure." Don't put your name down.

That being said, let the bidding begin!!!

Also, A MINIMUM $4 donation to the board is REQUIRED on this group buy. Nothing comes for free, and the donation list on the hall of fame is still small guys.

Everything. Shipping, border fees, customs, price, you name it. Ziggy will get all the details, but there has to be enough interest.

Anything you go through Ziggy for, especially on a group buy, you end up saving money on. How much depends on the amount of interest here.

Put it to you this way, you aren't going to save much on a rad if 2 other people buy J-pipes, however you will if you have 4 people buying rads, 6 on manifolds, 10 J-pipes, 8 1G FMIC kits, and some 2G Upper/Lower IC piping. Oh, and 1 wants a Tial wastegate.

I can't make any promises just yet, but I have had preliminary talks with Extreme PSI. He sells their O2 housings, so he must have an account with them..or with someone who DOES have an account with them...so he SHOULD be able to get me their stuff. I am not sure why he doesn't stock their other stuff? He didn't say. Anyways, he won't want to do this on a regulary basis, or for just a couple of items, but I am PRETTY sure if I bring him a big enough order, he will arrange to get the stuff from PR. I want to go through him, because I will get some sort of discount from retail pricing, and that will be my profit. Basically, I am hoping I can offer the same pricing as PR does, plus exchange, of course, plus shipping and taxes. Shipping to me, I will divide the cost among the items ordered. Obviously, it will be cheaper to ship one large order rather than several small ones. Also, we can arrange pickup from me or delivery to a Yorkdale meet to save further shipping costs. So basically, I will be saving you SOME of the shipping costs, and the dreaded brokerage fees. Thanks Ryan for organizing this. Group buys are always a bit of work..I will let you guys decide when it is time to place the order, and I am NOT going to chase people who haven't made their deposit on time. No deposit, you won't be included in the order. Sorry, but I just don't have the time I used to right now...

I believe only the 2g downpipes are cat replacing, so I believe there would be a gap between the downpipe and the catback for the cat. It is not included as far as I know..

Don't know if this will pertain to Megan racing products. But, I find that with alot of pre built exhausts 3" and 2.5". They will come with a test pipe to replace the stock cat. Usually a high flow cat will be extra. So like Ziggy said it will probably be a gap or test pipe.

Hope Im not interupting.

I have spoken with Extreme, since he DOES have an account with PR. We haven't discussed specifics, but I just told him if I placed a decent order, would he get me their stuff that he doesn't normally carry (he only carries their O2 housings, not sure why he doesn't carry the other stuff). I asked if perhaps he could even have the entire order just shipped directly to me from PR to save shipping one way. He just said it shouldn't be a problem.

I wasn't 100% sure this would go through, so I didn't get too specific. It looks like there is lots of interest, so I will call him and discuss more specifically. I have no idea what sort of discount he can get me on this stuff, and, of course, he wants to make something also....but I am ASSUMING I will be able to match or beat PR's website pricing...and I am sure shipping on one or two large packages will be a lot less than many small ones....so that should be a savings also. Plus, of course, the dreaded brokerage fees won't be charged.

Once I have spoken with him again, I will know more on the pricing. I think FINAL price won't be determined until it arrives, as I won't know the full shipping cost until it is shipped. I will then divide that shipping cost fairly among the orders. I will basically figure it out as a percentage of the retail price, and then adjust a little...someone getting a full FMIC kit might pay a slightly higher percentage than someone getting just a small but expensive item. I will make it fair.

I appreciate the work Ryan has put into this! I think perhaps that should be somehow recognized. Maybe he should get free shipping to me?

Of course, shipping from me to you will also need to be worked out and charged, unless you are picking up. Also, there will be GST and PST, of course, plus I think we should once again ask for a small contribution for the board from everyone taking advantage of this. What do you think of $2/$100. spent to a maximum of $10.?

As for a deposit, Ryan mentioned 50 - 75%, and that would be great. It will be a large order, and I need to pay for it up front. If you are having problems with that, and want to negotiate some "special" deal...perhaps be included in the buy for a smaller deposit, or perhaps have me order your stuff, but not complete the sale and receive your goods until a little later, whatever, contact me by email. Best way to pay is by email transfer. I CAN accept paypal or credit cards, but need to charge you an additional 3.5% for that, as that is what they charge me...

I ask also that all of you do your homework, as I don't know the answers to your questions. Please contact PR or ask on the boards if you need to know something.

I will try to get more info on pricing and logistics and post again

Thanks again,
Ziggy

I agree with you Ziggy. Ryan set it up. I would be fine with me if he doesn't pay shipping. I have yet to make my donation to the board to this year. So I would be cool with 10 - 20 dollars. If everyone else can agree on that.

Thanks again Ziggy and Ryan for setting this up tu

If the problems you are talking about are located in this link I will let people know they were some SLIGHT install issues. Some cutting is required for any FMIC install, and the BOV pipe was a little long and hit the hood. You can rotate the pipe a bit to get it to fit.

The main issues people were speaking of are clearance issues with aftermarket Rads, the J-pipe, and the BOV.

But for $450, a kit that will hold 30psi it isn't that bad of a deal. Any FMIC kit you will get you will have to do some modifications. Bolt on isn't necessarily bolt on if you get my drift. wink

Just to let other buyers know.

I agree with Ryan. All front mounts I have seen have to cut something.

I spoke again with Extreme. The reason he doesn't carry more PR stuff is pretty simple...they sell it so cheap, there is no room for wholesale pricing. There is no markup in their stuff!

Anyways, he does get a few percent, and I am really hoping he will give me a few percent as well. I am pretty sure I can match their web pricing, but I WON'T be able to do any better, that is for sure. I WILL save you the brokerage fees, though...and where they quote a price "shipped", that is always within the US, not to Canada. Hopefully I will be able to match that price "shipped", because it will go to my US address, and I bring it across.

He is going to talk to them when I place the order, but I am pretty sure that is how it will go.....and this will be a one time deal..I won't normally be selling PR products (except perhaps their O2 housings, because Extreme stocks them), because there is no margin in it.

No you won't Jay.

Don't forget shipping/border fees.

Ziggy will probably get them at that price.

Guys, get your orders in!! The sooner we get this done, the better, and I'm anxious for my Rad. wink

Don't forget, deadline to get your orders/depost in is APRIL 4th!!!

No Jay, if you stay with the group buy, you WILL save. Ziggy will get them at the price shown on their site ($30 off) and by the looks of it, he's going to pretty much match the price in CDN dollars on the PR website.

So... You will get your J-Pipe for $60CAD shipped, as opposed to 59US plus shipping to Canada plus brokerage.

Your deal will be about $100 if you don't go through the group buy.

Oh im going through the group buy no doubt there Ryan. I wouldn't go with anyone but Ziggy for new parts. I was misunderstanding that. I was just talking I was expecting 89 for a j-pipe with them being 59. I would be saving 30 on what I was expecting it to be, even if ziggy only got them for the price they were listed on the website.

Don't worry Ryan. lol =]

I thought it might be appropriate, considering this is a group buy, to ask whether or not the quirks during installation of the FMIC kit have been rectified, such as the upper pipes' BOV flange location causing the BOV to dent the hood and certain parts having to be moved or completely removed like some of the power steering components and/orthe alternator? I've looked through the posts on the site linked earlier in this thread but have not found conclusive confirmation that these details have been tackled...

Would it be possible to confirm directly from Punishment Racing whether or not there are still such install issues with their FMIC kit? I know it's a great kit for the price and there are usually some minor modifications required to certain bolt-on mods, but I'd like to know what exactly will be an issue for my particular install before diving in head first.

FYI I'm already aware that I'll have to cut some metal to make room for the larger diameter of the new pipes and that doesn't seem too hard or costly at all. It's the more intricate details that I'd like to confirm, as mentioned above, and on a side note, it would be great to know if the BOV flange location limits my future BOV selection as well due to clearance issues.

Thanks a bunch! rotate

I personally have not looked into this, and not sure asking PR is the way to go for answers on this. What salesman will tell you "ya, you are right, my product is not as good as the competition"? I would suggest perhaps asking around on a few forums. I am pretty certain if we ask PR they are just going to say "oh ya, all those issues have been addressed".

I thought asking PR might be the way to go because usually a company stands by its products, which helps promote their reputation and increases business. In any case, is anyone registered with the other forums that might be able to ask this question on behalf of our group buy participants interested in the FMIC kit?

^^ Apparently, my home ISP can't create a new member on the other forum because it seems it has been globally banned and I can't create one from work due to restrictions. It would be greatly appreciated if someone could verify the above for us! Thanks!

I looked into punishment through other forums. They seem to be good. They only have people complaining about the bov pipe being a little to long. But if you just adjust the pipe, it apparently works. I haven't found anything else out.

If you want to ask if they have fixed these kinds of issues there site has an email for general technical troubles.

GENERAL QUESTIONS:
TC@PUNISHMENT-RACING.COM

I don't have a login to the sites either so Im unable to post for you.

If you check out there info for the front mount kit. http://www.punishment-racing.com/1gstreetcoreintercoolerkit.html

at the bottom "This kit is guaranteed for fitment, quality and function, you will not be disappointed"

Im sure they are prepared to stand behind it.

EDIT: that is all the more information I have seen on there front mounts.

I have not put a lot of effort into this.....I have Randy's deposit. I am ready to place a one time order from PR. I hope there are more than the 4....I will be a little embarassed after telling Extreme I would be placing a "large" order if he was willing to get me stuff on his PR account...

Luis, send the money. I will order whatever has been confirmed by Friday...

I have yet to hear anything from PR in response to my questions which has a huge impact on my downpayment. I have sent them two emails at this point and haven't even received a confirmation yet. At least I know the address worked because it didn't bounce back... Maybe someone here has direct contact with the company and can see what the deal is?

Same here, which is why I thought someone may have been in touch with them other than through their listed business line... Frustrating!

Strange, I ordered the GT35R Power Package from Punishment in December and while it took a while to ship (he had to wait for the turbo to come in), he always responded to my e-mails, and answered the phone when I called.

Also a friend of mine recently ordered a J-pipe from them a few weeks back and received it a few days ago, no issues there either.

Whether or not that was the case then, it does not seem to be now. I have yet to hear from them and I believe it's been over two weeks now.

I wrote them an email asking if they can make a pre cut on the uicp for a maft and Tom (i think his name was) replied to me the next day.

I would shoot them another email if I were you, or maybe your email server blocked it, try adding him to your address book.

Also if it's the worry about the bov flange being too high I've read on DSMTALK of people not having any issues with it, so I'm guessing the issue was fixed.

I've just sent my third email to them and included both tc and sales email addresses at Punishment Racing. Hopefully they reply before the payment deadline. . .

I just called Tim at Punishment Racing. He's the owner and apologized for the delay in responding due to this being one of the busiest times of the year for his company. In any case, Tim has assured me that the FMIC Kit should be a fairly straightforward install and also gave me a heads up that a fully redesigned kit will be coming out in a few weeks including a modified UIC pipe that he hopes will allow for a Greddy OR stock BOV to be used. Tim says that the new version of the pipe should be made available to those of us who own the older version at a fair price.

In any case, I'm sending Ziggy a PM to make payment arrangements.

It's not over Manny, as long as you get the deposit in time.

He can match PR price CAD. That's what we're told anyway.

Would it be too late to add a manifold to the order Ziggy?

I just noticed mine is cracked beyond repair and I need a replacement a.s.a.p.

Budget T3 manifold flanged for a 38mm wastegate.

P.S. I left you a voice message just in case smile

Most of our communication has been by email rather than by phone, but order is placed and paid for INCLUDING Miguel's manifold. He said "The parts will be shipped in a couple different batches." Not sure why, but as stuff arrives, I will contact to make arrangements for shipping or pickup, payment of balances, etc. Gates, he didn't want to take payment for your FMIC kit until he actually has them, but as soon as they are ready, he will let me know and we can place your order.

thanks again,
Ziggy

OK, I finally have pricing. I can't do much better than what was first suggested, but I CAN do a LITTLE better. Pricing is at my door in Niagara Falls, Ont. If you need shipping to you, that will be extra. Of course, GST and PST is on top of all pricing, and if paying by credit card or paypal, I need to add 3.5%, as that is what they charge me. I am making almost nothing on this, but this was a ONE TIME deal...

1g FMIC, PR price = $469USD shipped, I can do $460. CDN
1g Aluminum rad with fans, PR price = $249USD shipped, I can do $245. CDN
mild steel recirc. O2 housing, PR price = $159USD shipped, I can do $145. CDN
budget Mitsu flanged tubular manifold, PR price = $189USD shipped, I can do $185. CDN
Jpipe, PR price = $69.USD shipped, I can do $66. CDN
Budget manifold for T3 with 38mm wastegate flange, PR price = $249USD shipped, I can do $245. CDN.

Guys, don't forget to make a contribution to this board...

Also, I DON'T want anyone to contact me and say "hey, can I get one of those also?". This was a ONE TIME deal. The only other PR order I will be placing will be for Gates Perry's 1g FMIC kit as soon as the newer version is available...

Thanks guys,
Ziggy

WICKED, i've been waiting all week for the final damage, and it's not bad at all smile

Ziggy, I will most likely pick my fmic up at your door when I err 'get the chance' to visit my grandparents...So you may meet a few 'elderly' people as well lol.

Ryan, it says to donate to the board I through Paypal or send through mail to Andrew Bienhaus. Do you know if I can just email money transfer him from bank account to bank account? Recently I've been slapped with fraud and to me this seems like the safest way.

Thanx guys,
Luis

All but one of my donations have been through email money transfer.

The other one was a snowed out peckerhead shout out in where I only took some money back and left the rest to board.

I don't think it would be a problem.

Usually what we do for the donation is include it as part of the final price, and Ziggy sends it off to Andy.

Elderly people..I have no idea what you are talking about. Elderly would be in their 90's right? LOL, maybe can share a Geritol with them or something...
Is anyone on here old enough to know what Geritol is?
Anyways, ya, I can handle board contributions and forward to Andy...

Just thinking..we have quite a few new members....maybe time to dust off the club DSM license plate frames?

Lol, that Geritol sounds familiar but I can't quite figure out.

As for the license plate frames. I was just thinking about asking that. My last set is broken(where they were stored something heavy fell on them. So I will even need another set. =]

Well, I can bring plate frames to Yorkdale meets, or include with shipments. Price should still be $20./pair, and this will go 100% to Andy.

Geritol was a sort of "energy drink" for older folks...wonder where I can get some??

Apparently Randy K's O2 housing and Miguel Barros' manifold are the only two items to have shipped so far. They will be available this weekend. He is still trying to put the rest of the order together...

Thanks again

He hasn't said, and almost all communications have been by email, as he never seems to answer the phone when I call.

If the service level is lacking somewhat, you have to understand this is beyond my control. I have placed the order with him, and paid it in full, I can only sit back and wait....

I COULD call him several times a day, but I don't think that will get parts here any quicker .....

No, I don't think it will. wink

That's cool Ziggy. Expect the remainder of my payment tomorrow. I will pay for the Rad and board donation, we'll work out shipping when you get it in.

Also, I sent you an email last night. When you get a chance, can you get back to me?

Thanks!

In the event that they do still make those parts Waltrad is looking for, Ziggy, we can work something out to have his items shipped with mine to save on a bit of the cost. Waltrad and I have already discussed this option, and seeing as my parts are to leave Monday from PR, perhaps we can fit his items into my shipment.
wink

I don't believe he sells these anymore, plus, if you guys remember, this was to be a ONE TIME deal. PR's stuff is so cheap, there is no markup in it. I don't want to be handling his stuff on a regular basis. How many of you guys work for free??

I CAN get intercooler pipes from Dejon tool..

I apologize if it seemed as though I was trying to inconvenience you as you have been great to me from the beginning! Don't worry about it if PR doesn't sell them anymore. Perhaps Waltrad can contact you for the Dejon Tool stuff. I'll leave that up to you two.

In any case, I don't work for free and I don't expect you to either. Rest assured that I'll tip you nicely for your troubles and make a kindly donation to the board when the time comes, as mentioned throughout our PMs, my good sir! laugh

No problem, and didn't mean to come off "harsh"...just have had a few people wanting "last minute" additions to the PR order...and just afraid if I keep accomodating, it will be never ending.

In this case, he doesn't offer those pipes anymore anyways (at least according to his website), so that makes it a little easier to say "no".

FYI Ryan, Ziggy and I have made an agreement as I was waiting on the "new" FMIC kit before he placed my order. It's apparently getting shipped from PR Monday per Ziggy's last status update.

Thanks, Ziggy. smile

Yes, everything from PR has arrived except the FMIC kits. He is saying now they will go out this week, but likely not in time for me to receive them on Friday...and I only receive once per week..so looking like NEXT Friday...

Listen, Jay, the code is simple: Do not be loud and annoying, do not take forever on your order, do not try to make small talk with the Photograph Nazi, do not stand around idly (place your order, then step to the side), and do not make complaints about your order.

See, simple.

I just got word that the 1g FMIC kits (the last items in this group buy) are on their way. They are supposed to be at my US adress early this coming week, but I only pick up once weekly, Friday nights....so NEXT Monday (a week tomorrow) I will be able to ship them out. I believe they are all going to be his "newer" style, flanged for Greddy BOV. If this is going to be a problem for anyone, please pm me and I will see what I can do

Thanks again,
Ziggy

Ziggy, is it possible for me to drive up there this weekend and pick it up? I'm not too sure of your weekend store hours or if you're even open then.

Let me know,
Luis

The "store" is in my basement, so anything reasonable. I HAVE had guys show up at midnight and stay for over an hour, but not doing that any more! I am an old guy, and need my sleep...

Always best to call just before coming over, just to be sure I am here...289-296-9780

Thanks,
Ziggy

Ziggy has received my payment and contribution, though I will leave it to his discretion as to how much the board receives and how much he keeps. After all, he did go out of his way for us here without much monetary gain, so I had to give him a little something for his troubles.

Thanks Ziggy! I should receive the package tomorrow morning, if not tonight. tu
