LOL.

I would not bother contacting this person based on solely on their writing skill. I mean, come on... You are trying to sell your car, at least you could run some kind of spelling/grammar checks! Like resumés, poorly written ads can make a huge impact.

Forgiving the poor writing... spy
Is he serious?

I love the custom intercooler setup, under the hood laying flat so as not to be affected by any pesky air that might try to cool it.

Maybe he means Stage 4 according to the 101 stages he had planed out for this car. Doesn't seem like he's painted it yet, either. I'd sell my car for less than this and it's in way better shape, mechanically AND aesthetically!

Chris McKee, how much does a fully built Stage 3 Magnus Engine balanced to 10K run?

I've seen stroker's with Mahle/Crower/Scat combos run for less.

I'm sure Brent Rau's longblock isn't worth 8500. That thing better be able to handle 50psi of boost, and shift like butter at 10K RPMS.

rotflmao

Ok, ok ok... so I sent him an email... lets see what he replies back with. Here's what I sent:

Hey man, I am interested in your engine. For $8500 what do I get? How much boost will it handle? I want to run 8's this summer, so can this engine handle it? I was goin ta build 1 but i dont have the time with work. can u give me specs on it? What kind of rods and pistons does it have? how much mileage?

thanks;

I made a ton of grammar and punctuation mistakes on purpose.. funny I had to think about doing that too!

I am not interested in the shell as I have one right now, but the engines the stocker. figure i could spend the cash now and just do it up or buy one thats already done. I wont be running juice cuz its not street legal. what pistons are in it? do you know more? how do you tune it? Did you use like an AEM or something? holla back!

I'm gonna nail him on my next email... we'll see what happens.

Wait! It's NO TEST DRIVE. So it HAS to be super-awesome since you're not worthy to test it...

thats it never got to the painting of it! the engine is all tuned up and yes i went
to japan and got it off a 97 evo, that has the same power HP as the Skyline GTR!as
for the 1/4 it has been tested already and it did 9'8 at 24 pounds of boost and 11
flat at 12 pounds, its not bad but this times can change since it was just to test
the car out at the track! as for mustangs they are of no class to u cause u will
kill them even at take off and long run i myself use to street race alot and i have
beaten already stangs with this car, the computer chip is done, it has stage 3
flywheel and plates, stage 2 cams and stage 3 crankshaft, pistons are JDM
Mitsubishi racing pistons size 5/2, boost of turbo set at 12 pounds cause it peels
to much and has too much power to the front.its a track rdy car and also the boost
of the turbo so it can be street legal has been put lower than what it usually is
wich is 32 pounds and that kicks the HP to about 540HP and the street legal is set
to be at 500 HP so i had to lower it down so it would be aloud on the street it has
been dyno and rdy, all u have to do is paint it and drive it. i was only selling
the engine but the car is there i bought it from my friend for 500 buks! the engine
from japan with 32k's cost $4500 and the transmission with all the addons about
$2400, what u r really buying is the engine tuned up not the care really just in
case but since the car is there why not makes ur job easy and plus the car body is
in imaculate conditions, never been in winter or driven, it has been garages this
whole time.oh yeah the engine is also ported and polish top and bottom end for more
torque and compression ratio, what can i say about the car other then its a beast!
oh yeah just in case it those have a stage 4 turbo not a stock!!most of the engines
u look up will be around $25-3500 for the engines with about 72-90k's! plus u never
know what u r getting, this engine i got it myself from japan and brought it here
to canada, i had a trueno? sold that and a talon sold that too and this was gonna b
my other project but i got busy with my bimmers that i put this 1 on the sideline!
aldo its a worth car but i am into now the german cars! this car pumps
stangs,porshe turbo's,ferraris and most of the 500hp class cars without a problem.i
u wanna arange to see the car u r more then welcom but i dont give no more drives
too many tickets, lol.jk nah but give me a shout and i could explain to u over te
phone what alse it has. Dennis 416-857-1727.

It must have a Flux Capacitor too! This guy is out to lunch, $4500 and $2400 and $500 for the car is only $7400, but he is asking $8500.

a 97' Evo motor, with stage 4 turbo, what the hell is stage 4 anyways? lol Rocks my world.

Ok, I'm going to start my reply, and I want you guys to edit it/add to it.

The engine sounds pretty interesting, however I do have some final questions for you?

1: How does the car run 9.8 at the 1/4 when by the looks of the picture you have the stock 14b turbo with an oil cooler as your intercooler?

2: How do you run 24 lbs of boost out of the stock 14b which usually looses breath at about the 20psi mark?

3: To what extent is the JDM Cyclone Intake ported to? It must be pretty big to run over 500WHP, as most people I know with DSMs have a SMIM (That's Sheet Metal Intake Manifold if you don't know) as well as a turbo like a GT35 or FP3585.

4: What the hell is a turn pipe?

5: Where did you get your facts about the 97 EVO having as much horsepower as the Skyline GTR? I mean: RB26DETT (6 cylinder Twin Turbo) vs a 4G63 (4 Cylinder Turbo). The stock DSM 4G63 (which that is) puts down approx. 195 crank HP.

6: What the hell is a stage 3 Crankshaft? There are 2 Types: Mitsubishi or Forged by some other company. If it's not a stroked engine, which by your replys it doesn't seem that way, then it would have the stock crank.

7: I run 24lbs of boost, and I'm not running 9s. People are usually running in excess of 32psi to run 9s.

8: 12lbs of boost will get you into the 13's on a stock engine.

9: What fuel mods do you have? Or are they stock 500WHP Fuel lines, pump and injectors?

10: Stage 4 chip? You are all about the stages aren't you? This isn't Need For Speed dude.

Guys, keep adding to this, lets collectively roast this guy.

email him back and ask for specifics regarding the different stages...

ask the following:
- what the cams are (262/272/etc.) and whether they are regrinds or brand name
- what turbo it is and what its cfm rating is
- internal/external wastegate (and if external, what brand/size)
- what kind of BOV and whether its set for recirc or atmos dump
- what it compression tested per cylinder
- why hes using a vertical IC setup with improper air-flow
- etc

That's more like mid 10's.

Wait.. now I'M wasting too much time with this. Argh. I hate you guys. wink

Wow, sounds like ever typical ricer around belleville. They say they have just a stage 2 clutch. I stop them right they and say ok how much clamping force does it have? cause I have never seen clutches measured in stages.

People like this make me even more sick then I already am.

I want some better pics for you guys, so here's what I wrote back. NEXT one I'll "Do some research" wink

I'm getting more and more interested, but it's a heck of a drive for me to go down and see it. spring is coming and i have a nt talon i wanna convert turbo sitting in my yard so this sounds like hell of a deal i mite take the shell just to get the pedals and stuff or if the shell is in better shape than mine i might use it instead. Could you get me detailed pictures of the turbo, that sleek intercooler and the BOV? Also, could you get me better pictures of the body? My uncle works at a body shop so getting it painted won't be a problem, I want to show him some pics to give him a rough idea of what to deal with. is that intake aftermarket? get me some good pics man, we'll see what happens from there.

There are 'staged' clutches, Jay. The marketing is more for the 'Gran Turismo' crowd. You just KNOW some kid with rich parents is going to whine for this, thinking that it's the ultimate ride. Just like his 'Need for Speed' car.

At least it would be unique, with that IC setup. wink

You guys aren't going to seriously get this guy going. Your messages have too much punctuation and grammar for him. Gotta talk on HIS level. wink

Kijiji or other online advertisement = Free
"Modifications" done to this car < $8,500
Repainting a vehicle in such disrepair > $2,000+
Mechanical/electrical work required = ?
Someone buys this for that much = Priceless!

Seriously, I've seen less ridiculous (but still incredulous) ads like this before in the Trader, newspapers and even online. Yeah, they have less spelling and grammar mistakes, but they still TRY to make money by listing off regular stuff to try and make their sale seem impressive. Informercials for example. Not one, not two, not three, but FOURTEEN Willy-Wallers!
tongue

Can't blame a guy for trying right? Doesn't mean we can't laugh at his expense and try to protect those around us.

Well, Still think naming levels is dumb. Never a fan of RPG's. Only ever heard of stages in reference to nitrous kits and meth kits.

Meh, they would have to name them somehow to differentiate the proper margins of functionality... ie: stage 2 good to 300hp, stage 3 good to 450, etc. I doubt clutch companies would want long-winded names like "Non-organic assembly capable of withstanding 700 horsepower" or whatever. tongue

WTF do staged clutches have to do with roleplaying games? LOL wink

It appears to be a converted NT as the steering wheel depicts anyways.

Yeah, totally, is started life as a NT. The wheels and the seats give it away.

I can make sense sometimes.

I think my car is better looking. Even with the 8000 dollar engine in it. I still only paid 500. =]

Ok, so here's the email I sent. You guys all saw the car.

Quote

Hi there its Dennis again well here i found the beginning of the project with the talon when after doing the mods to the engine and bored, polished, pistons, trans, etc. mined u that this are from when i started, the stock color is gold. I took this pictures in 2001 when i 1st moved to Richmond Hill thats when i started the talon, then u know the story i guess with the girl u meet u engaged then i guess u start poping right!in a more rude way sry!lol anyhow getting back to the pics i have everything scatered cause i havent use this car or got back into it, i have done more BMW and porshes now kinda steped up if u can say wanted to try something new, it was my 2nd talon project succesfull but not finished, all the black spots u see around the car is were i sanded cause of reasons of small scratches, the car was taken downtown and got of course keyed as well as other cars but another story so i sanded all of that and primed it after all black to see how i was goin to do the finish job. but then i started other projects that gave me a bit more to do and left this poor baby on the side and then now engaged with mortgages and what not so all the fun has come to an end for me aldo i still do race :), street and track.to be honest this car i kept to be a perfect sleeper cause thats what it is, there is alot of cars out there but to many wanna bees, i have been racing for pinks for a long time before i got engaged so thats why i got a bit more serious and started to sell my projects well some of them. my lost your gain! i am not asking for much nore the work or materials that are in the car i just want what the engine cost and trans' thats it! the car is a bonus.trust me i have nothing to waste your time for, as i said the car needs 1. 1 more sand, prime 2. paint 3 custom trun pipe from cat to manifold just been lazy i never did it sry lol but its there lol! just like the way it sounded at the track without it! trust me this car is loud sounds louder then a stang but with a huge jet sound, the turbo is very loud well mind u i did tell u its a stage 4 turbo. so u see i dont want to waste no1's time nore mine thats why i say serious buyers and no test drives no more u buy as is the engine not the car the rest its all bonus to the person that gets it! if u do understand u would see that the price is there just for the quick sell why cause i have too many cars and gona get rid of all of them thats all! thats why i am giving them away for who ever gets them they will be very happy trust me i have a good reputation on track and off. well here they are enjoy and i will send u the pics that i will take later on the day to see how it looks now k, oh yeah! and 1 more thing the secrets and extra info of the engine and rest of the goodies that make this car a nice sleeper goes with the buyer only. confidential info smile

And my response....

I would like some technical specs about the engine/mods for it. Please complete the following list.

Turbo:
Compressor Trim on the Turbo
Compressor Inducer/Exducer size
Turbine Inducer/Exducer size
A/R of the Turbine Housing
Internal/External Wastegate, Brand if external and size/mount (V-Band flange or square)
Porting/Clipping of Turbine Wheel
Journal 360 Thrust? BB? DBB?

Intake:
Cold air?
MAF (GM MAF-T, 2G MAF or 1G MAF) and any hacking to it
Front Mount Intercooler size? (I don't see you have one, but maybe it's one of those "Confidential things) as well as piping and piping route
T-Body (BBK, Mustang, N/T, Bored 1G XX??mm etc...)
Doesn't look like it has an SMIM, so we know that's out

Fuel:
Chip Specs (Injector Compensation, Timing Curve, Stutterbox, NLTS, Anti-lag etc)
Fuel Injector size and brand
AFPR?
Fuel pump size and type (Inline or intake unit) and if a re-wire has been done to the pump

Engine:
Cam Specs (272, 280, 288 etc) and brand
Piston bore size and compression ratio
What machine shop did the porting and building of the engine?
Head specs (Springs/retainers, valve type etc)
Brand of Rods
Balance Shaft Elim?
Bearing specs?
6 bolt or 7 bolt?
Balance/Blueprint?

Exhaust:
Manifold type (FP, Tubular, Stock 1G etc... you know what I mean right?)
Vented or internal WG Dump?
3" Turbo-back?

Suspension/driveline
Type of shocks/struts and springs
Brand of clutch/flywheel and what clamping force it has? You say "Stage this and Stage that" but give me the technical specs man! I have a DSM that's setup to run low 12's/high 11's, so I know this stuff!!
Who built your tranny? Because if you've really raced this DSM, you would know that the stock tranny WILL NOT run 10s. Stage 4?? What the hell is stage 4? Does it have a taller 1st? Welded Center Diff? Upgraded synchros? What??
Upgraded Axles?

Maintenance:
Last time timing belt, water pump, and all related components were changed?
Brand of timing/cooling components? (Mitsu, Topline etc... )
Brand/weight of all fluids in the car.

Cooling: Well, sure as sh!t doesn't have an aluminum rad, or slim fans, so... hmm.. not much in that department.

Couple of unrelated I'm-sure-you-can-answer questions.

Where's the Dyno Sheet for you 980HP?
Slips of you running 10s on 12lbs of boost from what looks like the stock 1G 14b that can't breath on more than about 20 and put you into the 13's if you can drive?
Where the hell is your BOV? Have you just forgot to put it on? Or have you not been running one? If you haven't, the Turbo's TOAST.
What the hell is that you call an intercooler?
Where is the MAF?
Why are you still on the Cyclone intake? Why not slap a ported 1G Intake that will put you into the 10s?
Why do you talk in stages? Is this car from Forza Motorsports Showdown or is it from Need for Speed MW?
How the hell do you know what is going on in your engine with no gauges in the car? If you've been running this car time and time again down the track and on the streets like you say you have, why is the interior taken apart? Where is your monitoring? Do you use a pocket logger? Or is that more "Confidential" information? Maybe its a psychic car that tells you what's wrong with it or how it's reacting?

And last but not least:

Do you really think you're going to get 8500 for a stock engine that has more internal damage from your running it the way you have been? I mean, learn something about these cars dude. You are not going to get 8500 for it, and trust me man, I'm doing you a favour.

By the way, I have 2 DSMs, race every year, and have a sh!t load more mods on mine that you think you do yours. My engine is a JDM, and trust me, the most people have been able to put out on street trim is about 700hp. 980 gets you into the 9's if not 8's and that DOES NOT look like a 980hp motor. The turbo is too small. You know you have almost 1000hp when the turbo inlet is big enough to suck a small child through, and if you really knew anything about these cars, or tuning period, you would not talk in "Stages" because there is no such thing. Staging is referred to lining up at the lights on a track prior to racing.

So, thanks for the time, but man, I wouldn't give you $500 for that engine, it's probably toast if you've been running 24lbs of boost on that small oil cooler. Go to www.dsmtuners.com and look at the members rides in there, see what a 600WHP car REALLY looks like.

Good luck man, that's all I can say.

Ignorance should be painful... HEE HEE HEE!!

LOL, very true.

You know, I just can't believe that are people that get so caught up in their own sh!t that they expect everyone else to believe in it also. I bet if one of us were to take him out for a ride on a real 11 - 12 sec DSM this guy would piss his pants.

I guarantee you won't get a response back.

He probably wouldn't read the entire thing past the first few sections... just too much knowledge.

Too bad, I'd love to see his face.

And whats really bad is SOMEONE will end up buying that...

I love the guy's explanation about selling this to go up to "bigger engines" with "more power" like bmw's and porsches wink Apparently the 980WHP his talon puts out isn't enough power...

I wish my Porsche had over 1000whp, maybe I should contact this guy for some tuning advice wink
