88/mo full coverage on my 94, under 25, clean record. 66/mo for my winter beater, PLPD. That's down from 167/mo as of beginning of Feb. See what happens when you switch companies?

Rob/Grant: When I asked, she said everything would be the same as I was paying now... Shocked the Hell out of me. Now I just need to come up with the cash to buy the car! I'm sure their story would change if I went to them SERIOUS about it. hey Troy, don't mean to doubt you at all, but considering I worked at RBC Insurance at Yonge/Bloor for over a year before coming here to State Farm, I'm well aware of their rules/regulations. The advisor you were speaking to probably did not check the deductibles when giving you the quote as they are generated automatically for those types of vehicles and you wouldn't see that until the end of the quote. again, not doubting you...just sayin' sorry to turn this into an insurance thread - maybe we should have an insurance forum, mods?

Forgot to add that in, Grant. I believe you, and I'm used to people doing a half-assed job. That's what I meant when I said the story would change if I tried to go through with it.
It's a funny thing, Randy. When you get old and stay accident-free, collision becomes cheaper than PLPD or Comp!

Finally got around to visiting the dealership to see the new IX.
Out front was bright, shiny new charcoal grey one, and I have to say......it was impressive to look at.
Inside they had an identical one that I took the time to sit in and poke around.
Hmmm.
After sitting in it, I realized that the seating and position is.....dare I say....no different than my 2G. I was hoping for telescoping wheel in addition to just tilt.
It's most certainly a nice car, but would I plunk down $40K for it? I know way back when I said I would, no questions asked.....but after owning an Audi for the past 2 months, my old fat ass has gotten spoiled. If I am going to retire the 2G and replace it with something, I want a significant improvement, not just in performance, but in comfort. The interior is woefully unimpressive, the seats look lame with the faux carbon fibre look, the trunk is very small, and I am still not sure about this new 4B11. The absence of little niceties like bluetooth, steering wheel mounted audio, and the lack of the bad assery of the DSG transmission, make me say "meh" . I know the MR has the SST, but the fact that Mitsubishi is having a lot of birthing pains with this tech makes me think thrice.
An Evo is all about raw performance, and so I reluctantly concede that after all is said and done, -I might just be too old for a car like this. I saw a shiny black Evo IX parked yesterday, and that one excited me more.....(4G63, or nuthin'!)
(sigh)

Check around Ruben. I was insured through my father (years back) with a reputable place, government rate, and suddenly my rate went from $1400/yr to $2600/yr. They said it was a change in the car's classification. I checked, and it was changed to a higher risk category (loved it when the Talon TSi was the same as a Civic ). 7 months into it I decided to check around, and found another broker willing to give me a $1600/yr rate! The company I was with refused to refund me for the rest of the year after I changed, stating they'd done me a favour by not charging me $3200/yr (I was so lucky to get a discount, I guess). I threatened court, and they eventually refunded me the difference. You can't always go by what they tell you...
