I don't think I have ever used one. Like Rob said, I just use my eyes and make sure its centered. If the trans goes on, your good. Once the slave is hookep up, I just press on the clutch once to let the disk sit on the input shaft freely.

Use the end of a ratchet, stick it in the pilot bearing and eyeball it.
Works like a charm Every time. X2 I've never used a clutch align tool. Eyeballed it with a 3/8 drive ratchet.

Alright thanks, I use to always just play by the rules and use the align tool, wasn't sure how critical it was

You can make one if you like. Find something a rod that fits the pilot bearing (or close to it) then use electrical tape to make up the difference. use the tape to make up the difference till it's the same as the friction disk. If you eyeball it and you're off, they are right and it will never go in. You'll be bench pressing it on the ground all day (unless you have a hoist) I did mine on the ground 2 times and one for the hoist. get'in tired of it.
