This question is for my friend with a 95 Tsi auto...

We removed the centre console when doing the stereo...when reinstalling everything there was some clicking coming from the engine bay (near the tranny)

When we went to start'er up everything was ok, but it wouldn't go back into park.

Is there a relay that could've shorted out?

For now, it's kept in neutral with the e-brake...someone please help

There is a sensor that tells the car your on the breaks, and allows you to go into park, could that be broken or disconnected??
I can hear a little click every time I touch the breaks in the rental, opening the passage between Park and Reverse
